Economist - Banking Captive (3-6 yrs)

We are currently hiring for one of our Banking Captive at Bangalore India.

Position Responsibilities

- Work closely with onshore Economists in Asia

- Track major economic indicators of Asian economies and analyze their impact on financial markets

- Demonstrate strong understanding of economic concepts and principles. Understand various inter-linkages between the macro indicators internal to a country as well as external (including natural disasters)

- Create charts, work on complicated excel based models and use various statistical methods to forecast the same

- Write reports, commentaries, create presentations and compile news roundups

- Handle ad hoc research requests as per requirements

Experience /skills

- Prior relevant experience of macro-economic research having strong domain capabilities

- Eye for detail and ability to identify and solve issues effectively and on time

- Sound knowledge in econometrics/statistics

- Proficiency in quantitative methods and computing skills, advanced Excel, Eviews etc.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- High level of independent thinking and approach

- Preferred knowledge of databases such as Haver, Reuters, Bloomberg, CEIC and other financial databases; various central bank and statistical websites

Education and Experience:

- Master's degree in economics with 3-4 years of relevant experience

- Specialization on Econometrics
