Competency Overview : Finance Effectiveness

The Finance Effectiveness team works closely with client and project teams in the US to help CFOs and their finance organizations identify, design and implement programs that transform their finance functions to meet today's demanding requirements while continuing to provide valuable insights to the business.

A career in our Corporate Finance and Treasury practice, within the Finance Effectiveness team, will provide the opportunity to work alongside CEOs, CFOs, controllers and treasurers to optimise the structure of their finance functions and improve their contribution to the business. We support our clients by addressing the challenges of achieving appropriate standards of control, efficient back office opportunities and support to the business through insight and challenge.

Our team helps our clients maximise their available liquidity position and manage financial risk, such as foreign exchange rates, interest rate changes, and commodity price fluctuations, as well as make decisions around funding the core business operations and making investments to increase the value of the organisation to the shareholders.

Key Responsibilities :


As a team member, you will work with the US project team on engagements that may involve (but not limited to) :

Treasury :

- Banking optimization and RFP

- Design and implementation of in-house bank

- Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management

- Treasury target operating model design and implementation

- Integration of Treasury organizations, driven by acquisitions, spin-off or carve outs

- Foreign currency and commodity risk management

- Working capital management, specifically on order to cash and procure to pay cycles

Others : Provide proposal support for business development, drive business development activities such as creation of conference materials, and contribute to thought leadership and whitepapers

Knowledge Required :


Candidates should demonstrate proven knowledge and success in :

- Advising global organizations on improving efficiency and effectiveness in Treasury processes

- Being in a client facing Treasury consulting role and/or have a Treasury industry experience

- Hands on experience / knowledge in financial market, banking, and accounting. Familiarity with Treasury processes (e.g., cash management, financial instruments, FX and counterparty risk management, bank account management, etc.) and transaction processing, cash flow forecasting, and internal and external reporting.

- Process improvement in and applications of at least one of the following focus areas: shared service and outsourcing, Treasury transformation, performance management, Treasury systems optimization (Treasury Management Systems: Quantum, Trax, Kyriba, SAP Treasury, Reval, GTreasury, or Integrity)

Skills Preferred :

- The candidate should be able to demonstrate abilities to leverage PC applications including Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project to write, communicate, facilitate, and present cogently; to and/or for all levels of clients and internal staff and management. Professional skills and responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :

- Deliver significant business results that utilize strategic and creative thinking, analytical skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simple and actionable tasks

- Exhibit strong organizational skills, with the ability to work independently as well as in a highly collaborative team environment

- Support project work streams and working autonomously with minimal direction

- Communicate effectively (written and verbal) to various stakeholders

- Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.

- Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations.

- Develop new skills outside of your comfort zone.

- Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarising key points.

- Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

- Knowledge on tools such as Alteryx, Tableau and/or PowerBI

Educational and Professional Background :

- An undergraduate degree from top institutes followed by relevant work experience (Big 4 experience would be an added bonus), and

- MBA in Finance from a premium B-School / Qualified CA / CPA/ ICWA / CMA with relevant consulting experience
