Job Posting Title of the position: Head, Retail The Opportunity: We believe that - sleep products- is a sector that has tremendous growth potential but is currently underpenetrated by branded retail. Duroflex is on a journey of transforming this sector by developing the retail setup via a large multi-state chain of Exclusive Brand Outlets and Company Owned stores. Apart from investments in acquiring/ setting up stores, we are actively engaging with experts to help us establish the systems and processes required to succeed in - retail- and give consumers the best experience while they engage with our retail outlets. Significant effort is also being put towards - omni-channel- integration: being available to our consumers via all possible touchpoints. Do you fit the bill? - Have you successfully run a large and growing retail chain of stores? Have you developed strategies/ systems and processes/ teams for the same? - Are you aware of the dynamics that come into play while a company/ industry transitions from - trade driven- to - retail- setup? Would you be able to coordinate effectively and manage the dynamics/ conflicts with the - trade/ Multi Brand Outlet- sales team? - Do you have the experience of setting up and managing an - omni-channel- retail setup? - Have you worked and succeeded in rapidly evolving ever-changing setups? - Can you handle a relatively small and young but very ambitious and restless team? - Do you think like an owner? Key responsibilities in the role : - Developing the strategy for sustainable growth in the retail channel by focusing on critical decisions like choice of regions for expansion, number of stores to be added, store clusters to be focused on, product focus in each region, differentiated offerings/ initiatives for COCO stores, etc. - Finalizing the blueprint for successfully running a large chain of retail stores, spread across multiple locations. This may involve engaging actively with external experts who would help in establishing the processes (e.g., processes related to measuring the consumer data, engagement levels, development of loyalty programs, etc.) - Ensuring effective implementation of the retail strategy and blueprint, i.e., each - element of retail- required for attracting and engaging consumers must be delivered across the chain of retail stores : - Improving the brand awareness by : a. Active coordination with consumer marketing team b. City/ location - centric marketing c. Exploring other forms of brand building, e.g., partnership marketing - Undertaking activities for increasing footfalls - Ensuring that the product range (breadth/ depth/ new arrivals, TG suitability) is designed properly and is always available, along with supporting collaterals like product literature - Developing the strategy for allied products - Ensuring Visual Merchandising is in line with global best practices (e.g., by suitable use of technology, interactivity in the stores, in store social media, cross merchandising, etc.) - Integration of retail with the overall - omni-channel- strategy - leading to effective lead generation/ customer acquisition - Development of store staff via focus on aspects like grooming, training, ensuring SOP adherence, building a family culture, etc. - Taking up regular promotional activities, e.g., promotional videos, flyers/ brochures, discounts, etc. - Building excitement for consumers in the store via ongoing activities, e.g., celebrity presence, complimentary services, etc. - Developing a consumer analytics/ loyalty program with appropriate design, communication, data analysis and integration - Developing the retail sales organization building blocks (appropriate number of sales persons per store, visit frequency, beat plan, tracking KPIs and MIS) - Developing a robust mechanism to measure and analyze store KPIs (footfalls, conversion, store sales, number of orders, average basket size, sales per salesperson, inventory turnover, trainings per employee, etc.) - Ensuring key retail metrics get measured and analyzed at a regional/ national level (volume, ASP, sales, SSG, Target Monthly Sales, H&amp;M salience, EBO GP, Capex, etc.) - Helping the retail sales team to understand and internalize the importance of these metrics - Coordinating effectively with internal teams (especially MBO sales team and consumer/ trade marketing teams) and external agencies during execution Qualification and experience : - 10-15 years of retail experience with leading retail focused companies, preferably in the consumer durables industry - Must have managed a large chain of retail stores, including COCO stores - Candidates who have helped develop and scale the retail setup of a trade-centric brand and have hands-on experience with developing the required systems and processes would be preferred Key competencies required : - Ability to understand the company's growth trajectory and strategize/ implement the retail growth plan in sync with the same - Strong planning and project management skills - Ability to manage multiple projects at a time - Strong teamwork, with internal and external stakeholders - Conflict management and resolution skills - Strong communication skills Reporting relationships : Position reports to the Business Head, Mattress SBU Location : Bangalore, with travel as and when required Compensation : Not a constraint for the right candidate About Duroflex : One of leaders in the sleep products industry, Duroflex has been growing at a fast pace over the past few years and expects the same growth momentum in the coming years.
