Duputy General Manager - Operations - FMCG/Pharma (18-20 yrs)

We are looking candidate for Deputy General Manager - Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Deputy General Manager - Operations will lead manufacturing, maintenance, new projects and EHS activities in the Hyderabad site, focusing on day-to-day operations of the plant. The individual in this role will also play a leadership role in identifying and deploying manufacturing technologies to drive business performance.

Responsibilities: Essential Duties:

1) Drive all production and maintenance activities to drive business set goals and targets

- Responsible for manufacturing activities such as Production planning, maintenance, Quality assurance, in a plant with a strength of 450 employees.

- Lead the efforts to develop and implement plans to meet requirements for product quality, cost and delivery.

- Responsible for leading daily manufacturing operations. Ensure optimal operations which is characterized by a variety of production processes to deliver on-time order processing at the highest quality level.

- Ensure all manufacturing functions are staffed and well trained to perform their duties effectively. Responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all manufacturing functions at the plant.

- Establish and monitor overall plant performance for production, maintenance and Quality standards. Comply with all industry requirements and internal regulations.

- Provide support to all facility activities and prepare plans for the plant. Ensure compliance to all budgets and manage communication to reportees and supervise performance for the same.

2) Promote and develop continuous improvement and efficiency

- Promote a favorable environment for all employees to achieve excellence in productivity, customer satisfaction, Quality and EHS.

- Drive initiatives to maximize employee contribution and drive improvements in product quality and effectiveness.

- Planning, design, structuring and optimization of work processes and systems in regards to lean management. Idea creator and innovator in all production related issues.

- Analyse all customer metrics and recommend improvements. Collect and analyse new data to determine where wastes could be occurring or where improvements could occur.

- Tracks progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines or other performance indicators, and prepares reports to Plant Head.

3) Oversee Safety Health Environment and total production maintenance strategy implementation in the plant

- Keep an eye on the plant and worker safety, monitor the production equipment to ensure that it is maintained in optimal working order and repair or replace equipment as necessary.

- Take care of all maintenance activities in the plant. Implement and maintain preventive maintenance programs. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment, replace or make adjustment to plant facilities and assist in installation of all new equipment.

- Ensure all new projects in the existing plant or in expansion plans are planned and executed within budgets and in timely manner.

- Manage capital asset maintenance. Ensure adherence to all time frames and budget and assist to maintain all buildings and equipment.

- Ensure that all emergency as well as health and safety equipment is tested and replenished on a regular basis. Comply with environment applicable regulations.

4) Manage and develop manufacturing & maintenance teams and create a collaborative and favourable working conditions for growth

- Provide and support all manufacturing and maintenance teams and manage efficient integration of workflow.

- Together with HR conduct regular coaching, mentoring and performance management for subordinate managers and encourage best practices in people management.

- Control and minimize labour overtime.

- Provide direction, development and leadership to production managers.

- Meet regularly with production managers and supervisors to facilitate regular resolution of issues/problems.

- The listed job function is not exhaustive and shall also include any responsibilities as assigned by the Plant Head from time to time.

Professional Competence:

- Requires advanced knowledge of professional field and industry.

- Should be self-motivated and one who works under minimal supervision.

- Relies on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish assigned goals..

- Contacts are primarily with department managers, subordinates and peers.

- Frequent contact with external contractors/vendors.

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical or any other branch of Engineering

- 15 to 18 years of related experience

- Occasional business travel required

- Ability to work non-standard schedule as needed.

- Regular and predictable attendance.

- Customer-centric and able to lead within the organization

- Must have a hands-on approach with a high level of self-initiative, entrepreneurial in spirit, self-motivated & an independent thinker.

- High on integrity and compliance

- Must have facilitated change management and process development.

- Possess an Executive Stature, leadership qualities and have managed complex/large teams

- High on energy, assertive and high maturity levels to deal with multiple stake holders both internally and externally. Able to work in complex structures successfully

- Strong problem solving skills, with an appreciation and understanding of the business.
