Description:

The Operations Manager will be responsible for daily metrics, process compliance, people, process and client interactions in S&L DuPont. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President and serving as a member of the Management Team along with the Quality team, this position's primary responsibility is ensuring organizational effectiveness by providing leadership for Sourcing and Logistics functions within Sourcing and Logistics of DuPont.

Working with the management team, the position also contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies and practices. This position will also interact with the S&L Directors, Sourcing Managers, Buyers, SOTL (Sourcing Operations Team Leaders) of S&L.

The role of the teams involves:

- Provide transactional/non transactional and strategic buying Support to the DuPont Buy Teams

- Provide support on Spot Purchases for US Sites/Operations using knowledge/expertise of Sourcing & Procurement and Logistics via SAP Applications

Detailed Job Description/Role/Responsibilities:

Assume line management responsibility of 3-5 Operations Leaders with a Span of about 30-40 Procurement/Logistics Specialists who provide Sourcing & Logistics Support to:

- DuPont Sourcing & Logistics Buy Team

- US Plant Sites/ Warehouse

- Accountable for daily operations and deliverables

- Ability to lead, guide, coach, mentor and lead by examples to Operations Leaders and procurement/Logistics specialists

- Serve as the second escalation point within the team and for Internal Clients & Suppliers

- Work closely with the Quality Team to improve the efficiency, quality and Audit standards are met

- Manage & develop Operations Leaders, Specialists by effective implementation of career development plans

- Lead, Motivate & develop team to meet & exceed deliverables

- Be Proactive in identifying potential issues/concerns or threats and implement controls to sustain operations

- Identify and execute plans to eliminate operational inefficiencies using continuous improvement techniques.

- Create/follow Transition Methodology and ensure work transition happens effectively and seamlessly as per timelines

- Improve the operational systems, processes and policies in support of organizations mission -- specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning.

- Play a significant role in long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence.

Skill Sets/Experience:

- Graduate or Post Graduate (MBA) Overall at least 10 yrs. of experience in Sourcing & Logistics Domain in BPO/ITES with at least 2 years in handling People Managers/Team Leaders/Asst. Managers
