National Operations Manager - International

The role is responsible for overseeing all international operations for respective Gateway and Ground operations. Another key responsibility will be strengthen the Regulatory Affairs mechanism in close coordination with international gateway, domestic HUB operations and the legal team

Additionally, the role is also responsible for taking up strategic initiatives in international operations and providing resolutions to key issues on an ongoing basis.


- Manage India International Operations - Gateway and Ground

- Nodal point for Regulatory & Compliance matters pertaining to International operations

- Take end-to-end responsibilities for customs regulatory and statutory compliances on a Pan India basis for multiple Gateways

- Initiate projects & solutions, with respect to Quality improvement & process efficiency, in conjunctions with IT and other Cross functional teams

- Drive Operations excellence by providing required trainings to Intl. Teams

- Lead the team in providing the much needed learning and guidance to the Franchisee community

- Bridge the gap between Domestic and Intl Ops teams for a seamless functioning

- Identify the Ops failures and implement performance recovery processes and solutions

International Projects Management :

- Identify process improvement requirements & propose necessary changes in the existing processes

- Identify projects that needs systems and tools enhancement for business facilitation

- Involve IT and other cross functional stockholders to complete the projects in time

Trainings and Knowledge enhancement for Intl. Teams :

- Identify skill gaps of the team & conduct trainings for the team

- Develop necessary knowledge repository modules for all to access

- Introduce train the trainer concept and ensure Ops compliances

- Develop KPI / KRAs of the team with measurable parameters to increase Ops performances and customer experience

Supporting Business & Customer Service initiatives :

- Work closely with sales & provide solutions to assist in catering to business

- Provide necessary guidance & support to CSS and Franchisee community

- Implement cost optimisation solutions for Pan India operations

Customs and Regulatory Management :

- Drive International processes towards zero non-compliance.

- Conduct periodical audits & appraise management on gaps and take steps to improve compliance levels.

- Contribute in designing, development & implementation of comprehensive Indian Customs Compliance program.

- Handle Customs Compliance related matters including regulatory affairs, information dissemination, compliance assessments, audits, Customs EDI related training, operations support etc.

- Liaise with Customs and regulatory authorities on the compliance matters

- Update and appraise all stakeholders on the customs and regulatory changes regularly

- Conduct regular audit and checks



- Graduation (any discipline) with 15 years of experience in international operations or a similar role

- Prior experience in a managerial role in Express logistics or courier/cargo/freight/transportation and other related industry is preferred


- Ability to handle and drive a large team of people
