COMPANY BACKGROUND/CULTURE Dr. Agarwal's Healthcare Limited (AHCL) is the holding company of a specialist chain of eye-care centers and is headquartered in Chennai. The group provides a range of services from OPD and common surgeries to advanced ophthalmic procedures. Services include Cataract, Lasik, Retina Surgeries, Retina and Injections. Founded in 1957 by Dr. Jaiveer Agarwal, the group has a total of ~95 secondary and tertiary centers in India and Africa. The firm had revenues of ~INR 600 crores in FY 2019 -20, with a projected CAGR of 25-30%. It is currently led by the CEO, Dr. Adil Agarwal and the COO, Dr. Anosh Agarwal. The company has three legal entities. One of these, Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospitals (DAEH) limited is listed on the Bombay Stock Exchange. The holding company has attracted PE investments from Edelweiss Special Opportunities Fund, ADV Partners and Evolvence India Life Sciences Fund to the tune of ~$80 Million since 2012. Last year, in February 2019 Temasek Holdings invested INR 270 crore ($38.1 million) and CDC Group invested 215 crores ($30 million) in December 2019. In India, the company has 81 branches spread across 13 states. It is also present in nine countries in Africa with 14 branches.
