Store Operations:
- Completes store operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains store staff job results by coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Ensures availability of merchandise and services by maintaining inventories on shelves and shop floor.
- Implementation of Shelf edge labels, pricing policies, promotion talkers and other VM materials on floor.
- Reviewing merchandising activities; determining additional needed sales promotion; authorizing clearance sales; studying trends.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Plans, implements and reviews omnichannel deliveries.
Market Study and Financials:
- Achieves financial objectives by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Determines marketing strategy changes by reviewing operating and financial statements and departmental sales records.
- Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and other persons able to understand service requirements.
- Benchmarks competition for range, quality, promo and pricing.
- Markets merchandise by studying advertising, sales promotion, and display plans; analysing operating and financial statements for profitability ratios.
Store Safety and Standards:
- Secures merchandise by implementing security systems and measures.
- Protects employees and customers by providing a safe and clean store environment.
- Maintains stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements.
- Maintains operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures (SOP- s).
Retail Store Manager Skills and Qualifications:
- Customer Focus, Tracking Budget Expenses, Pricing, Vendor Relationships, Market Knowledge, Staffing, Results Driven, Strategic Planning, Management Proficiency, Client Relationships, Verbal Communication
- Graduation from reputed university (Basic req)
- Post Graduation preferred in general management.
Relevant Experience:
- Successful running of a hypermarket or cash and carry store for at least 3 years as Store Manager with proven credentials.
- Having managed over 100 employees.
- Min turnover of Rs 100 Cr per year
- Handling a profitable P&L at store level.
