The position will be responsible for:
- Develop a listings strategy to ensure Discovery Networks have appropriate representation in cable and satellite listings outlets, especially on Electronic Programme Guides.
- Develop an editorial coverage strategy to maximize the positive coverage of Discovery Networks- programmes and channels in all media, anticipating and taking advantage of changes in the media landscape.
- Ensure PR activity is closely aligned with and complementary to on and off air marketing activity and corporate strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key members of appropriate media outlets in line with the PR strategy. Represent DCIN at appropriate functions.
- Appoint and monitor freelance PR consultants as and when required. Develop an effective means of monitoring and evaluating press coverage. Report monthly on its findings.
- Manage the Internal Communication piece.
Requirements:
- Minimum level of professional experience required to do the job
Minimum 8 years of Corporate Communications & media relations experience.
- Education - minimum level required, to do the job. Specifically where this is an entry level role. At higher level roles, education should be a given & experience takes precedence. Graduate, preferably Post Graduate
