Indian head-quarter is located at New Delhi. Job Summary: The role will involve building strategy and water resources team for Water Resource Management function in India office. Responsibilities will include leading business development activities, bids and proposals for winning work, oversee project management and delivery and provide technical leadership. The candidate should be very strong on technical aspects to provide thought leadership in the domain of: - Hydrological and hydraulic modeling - River basin modeling, monitoring, and data analysis - Watershed management - Forecasting for flood, drought, and natural resources management - Hydrologic hazards risk assessment, consequences analysis, and mitigation - Climate change impact on water resources and adaptation methodologies - Hydro-economics and ecosystems services; data management, systems integration, and web application development; and decision support systems (DSS). Essential Responsibilities: - Lead the WRM function by owning P&L responsibility through planning and managing all aspects of the Water Resources practice - Engage in solution shaping, program orchestration and delivery assurance to manage stakeholders in the client organization and third party (partners) as needed to meet program goals - Expand Org's Water Resources Management portfolio by leading and winning proposals of significant technical complexity, contract value or strategic importance through personal network - Develop strong client relationships through personal network in government organizations within the Water Resources practice to bring forth pipeline of opportunities - Collaborate with internal stakeholders for defining project requirements to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures. Conducts work sessions for design, development and contract documentation in conjunction with other functions. - Responsible to track project budgeting to ensure work is completed within the parameters of agreed deliverables. - As a technical manager, will lead or support pieces of complex projects and provide leadership in technical program design and implementation - Build technical capacity of the team and lead the execution of water resource management projects. Assist in the development and/or introduction of new approaches, methods and practices in project management. - Manage staff through performance planning, development and evaluation process. Ensures staff development and career progression. Ensures practices in place to ensure/drive towards a high level of staff morale and retention. Guides promotion and succession processes. Minimum Required Education & Experience. - PhD/Master Degree in Engineering with 12+ years of experience or Bachelor's in Civil Engineering with 18+ yrs experience in one or more water resource domains (e.g. hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, flood forecasting, reservoir operations, watershed sciences, water quality management, and climate risk/mitigation) - Proven ability to effectively plan and implement strategic business plans, including establishing and building strategic alliances with government agencies through own network - Working experience and demonstrated understanding of international funding agencies (for example: World Bank, Asian Development Bank, Japan International Cooperation Agency and KfW development bank etc.) and domestic funding agencies is essential Skills & Abilities but not limiting to: - Ability to travel several times and stay for prolonged duration throughout the year to domestic and international locations - Critical and strategic thinker, able to identify issues and opportunities, provide solutions and reach consensus with multiple stakeholders - Ability to present the Water Resources practice in public forums or during government bids - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to interact with a diverse and cross-cultural population - Demonstrated successful track record in building relationships with government, donor agencies; ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of internal and external clients - Excellent interpersonal, networking, presentation and organization skills
