A global fin-tech company is looking for a Strategy Director in India.
Role Summary
Opportunity for an experienced strategy and commercial business partner to join the company's strategy team. Based in Gurgaon and reporting into the Global Head of Strategy, you will work in close partnership with the senior executives operating the business helping set the strategic agenda for the business, across geographies.
Principal Responsibilities / Accountabilities
1. Work closely with senior executives to obtain an understanding of the business aspirations in order to translate into a strategic action plan and business objectives
2. Lead and execute strategic projects to improve the operational performance of existing portfolio companies in different geographies
3. Prepare strategy related internal and external presentations and documentation aimed for senior leadership team
4. Identify, analyze investment or partnership opportunities
5. Work closely in partnership with the M&A team in sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities that support agreed strategy and recommend such appropriate opportunities to the Investment Committee
6. Undertake strategic and commercial due diligence on targets
7. Provide direction and guidance to the senior executive to ensure alignment with the company's strategy
Academic Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Advanced degree from a top tier Business School with a specialization in Business Administration, Strategy Management or Finance
- 8-10 years of experience in a top-tier strategy consulting firm or strong corporate strategy background
- Payments experience added advantage
- Payments and broader financial services industry experience
- Solid functional knowledge, including but not limited to strategy, business development
- Knowledge of M&A, Investment Banking or Venture Capital / Private Equity
- Exposure to fast-paced, entrepreneurial and high growth market with fast-moving competition
- International experience, preferably in emerging markets
- Demonstrated leadership ability in a team environment; ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
- Proven record of high performance and substantial achievements in past positions
- Self-starter with ability to work independently; comfortable working remotely from the rest of the team
