Director Software Engineering

Key responsibilities include :

- Manage the engineering team.

- Hire, scale and develop engineering team.

- Help build and lead great software teams to deliver world-class products.

- Provide technical leadership and guidance to both your team members and your project peers.

- Work closely with Product Management, Designers, and other development groups to define the product roadmap and delivery schedule.

- Work with others across the entire development team to help define and execute on overall software technology strategy.

- Engage and manage a team of software engineers, including task planning and code reviews.

- Establish a solid project framework and excellent development processes.

- Facilitate goal setting and development of performance measurement tools used to manage staff.

Qualifications :

- 15+ years of experience in software technology with at least 5 years of experience building and mentoring high-performance development teams.

- Strong Leadership Skills - previous management experience required.

- History of delivering innovative, high performance, data intensive enterprise SaaS applications.

- Excellent architecture, design and software development skills with proven experience in building commercial end user facing applications.

- Understanding of modern web applications, testing strategies, and deployment operations. You work across the engineering organization to drive efficient and effective processes and tools for development, testing, continuous integration, deployment, etc.

- A strong, user-centric view of software and product quality and usability.

- Understanding of Mobile applications and specifically the impact on backend components and API's is highly desired.

- 10 years of extensive Java / JEE design and architecture experience with a focus on server side components.

- Expertise in architecture & development application and platform components based on micro-services architecture.

- Experience in building scalable, high performing and robust applications (with a focus on Java).

- Experience and passion to work in a fast-paced agile environment, delivering functional features in small time durations.

- Experience and knowledge of cloud enabled services / applications.

- Currently hands-on coding.
