Director - Product Management - Financial Services Firm (10-20 yrs)

Gurgaon/Gurugram Job Code: 1090612

Director - product management

As a senior leader in Product Management, you'll help set the vision and define what the future looks like. You will build and lead a high performing product team that owns the outcomes and delivers on the product roadmap in line with product strategy. You'll be responsible for adding new products to, as well as delivering exceptional growth in, our suite of existing products.

Let's fast forward a few months and take a look at what you're doing at Freecharge :

- You obsess about customer experience. You speak for our users, foremost and always. You uncover their pain points through various product discovery techniques and continue to develop a deep understanding of our users.

- You come across as a domain expert of the Consumer Financial Services industry. People across the organization often seek your views on the past, present and futuristic direction that various financial products - including, but not limited to, banking, investments, insurance and lending - have taken (or would be taking) in India. You do this by tapping into your reserves of accumulated knowledge, and your passion of staying up-to-date with latest trends and happenings in the financial and consumer internet world.

- You're our torch bearer when it comes to setting and articulating product vision, not just to your product team but also to various cross functional stakeholders across the length and breadth of the organization. You excel at the art of influencing and getting a buy-in for your ideas and insights.

- You make the job of translating the product vision into strategy and further into product roadmap easy by diving into your rich experience. Being good at the art of balancing trade-offs (e.g., customer experience vs. regulatory/compliance purview vs. business value) has enabled you to prioritize roadmap items for maximum impact.

- You have an eye for great design, and you can tell apart a mediocre one from a distance. You are respectfully opinionated while collaborating with designers, and enjoy pairing with them to form a strong team that thinks at the cutting edge of user experience.

- You relish the chance to roll-up the sleeves and get into the action yourself. As a result, you're never too far away from solving day-to-day implementation challenges, whether they are technical, design-related, or operational in nature. You dot your i's and cross your t's when you do that, often setting an example for your team and rest of the organization.

- You are outcome oriented, and are able to separate the difference between output and outcome.

- You'd rather own stretch outcomes and challenge yourself than be comfortable with what you can do. You're guided by intuition and known for your data orientation - and you know what to use when. You're light-weighted on processes and heavily-anchored towards action, and know how to keep pushing for a faster GTM while balancing tech-debt. Your team's behavior mirrors you in this aspect and the rest.

- You know the difference between leading by authority and servant leadership, and choose to be a servant leader. You make your team and others comfortable, as forming great relationships comes naturally to you. You know each individual is different and make efforts to understand how each member of your team learns and excels. You are always on the lookout for ways to increase the learning quotient of your team, and for yourself. You own mistakes quickly and share praise generously.

- You are feedback driven. You plan and implement feedback loops in user journeys, with your team and within various business functions. You regularly measure progress against set OKRs by diving into the datasets with your team. This helps you know what you're doing and whether you need to make adjustments. You're as open to receiving feedback as you're in sharing.

- You rarely miss out an opportunity to have fun, make a seemingly tense situation light and develop a healthy, safe, and open workplace. You do this by sharing tightly-knit stories and learnings every so often. You do this not because you have to, but because it's who you are.

What you'll need to succeed at this role :

- At least 10 years of experience, out of which at least 6 years is in Product Management, preferably in Digital B2C Financial Services and/or in Consumer Internet domains.

- At least 3 years of experience in building and leading a high-performance Product team.

- Demonstrated capability to deliver stretch outcomes in Product Management roles across product lifecycle : Discovery, Implementation (Agile), Launch/GTM, Retention/Repeats, Conversions/Funnel Optimization, etc.

- Strong business management skills, including operating at a strategic and tactical level. Bonus points for P&L management experience.

- Exceptional analytical, communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills. What are we offering :

- Autonomous and impactful role in a high-growth phase of the organization

- Attractive compensation with industry benchmarked performance bonus options

- Hybrid and flexible working hours in a super adjusting model for the new-normal

- Generous leave allowance to switch off, relax and balance time

- Health focus : Insurance plans and workshops for physical and mental health

- Collaborative environment with fun-filled parties, events, strategic retreats, and more!
