PURPOSE :

The Director, Operations shall lead the team responsible for following streams of work :

1. Human resources function,

2. Finance function to ensure cost-efficiency and financially compliant,

3. Supervision of all administrative systems and processes to ensure smooth and agile functioning

4. Overall internal and statutory compliance of the organisation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Strategic Planning and Implementation :

- Identify and deliver key operational functions, including human resources, finance and office administration to achieve the desired outcomes

- Develop and lead annual budgeting, resources and human resource planning process

- Ensure quarterly internal learning and development to ensure staff is trained on internal policies and procedures

- Conduct a quarterly review to ensure that human resource needs are met with individuals with the requisite skills, knowledge, and values-alignment, that their performance is monitored and managed, that they receive the necessary professional development, resources, and social-emotional support to perform at the expected standard of excellence

- Deliver a monthly finance update to the Management Committee on the financial health challenges with recommendations for further growth and improvement

- Develop and implement office administration processes and systems to ensure staff can perform its functions efficiently and effectively

- Ensure regular performance review meetings with team Directors and the CEO to discuss operational challenges and solutions

- Support the CEO on operational challenges, opportunities, organizational developments and growth plans

2. Leadership :

- Lead by example and ensure that organizational culture and the behavior and decisions of its associates are aligned to serving the child protection system and solving the problem

- Ensure a shared understanding of organizational values, the team's strategic priorities and where the team fits into the larger mission as per the internal communications strategy

- Build a strong, passionate, motivated and competent team which receive the guidance, professional development opportunities, support and resources to perform their roles with efficiency

- Conduct quarterly and annual appraisals of the Operations team to ensure that KPIs of team members are monitored and achieved, and timely corrective action is taken where needed such that the mission is always on track

- Ensure that the Operations team remains abreast with the latest regulatory requirements, compliance, sectoral developments and operational tools & techniques in the child protection and allied sectors

3. Governance :

- Ensure compliance of the team with board-approved internal policies and governance framework

- Ensure regular updation and internal compliance on organisational policies, systems and procedures

- Ensure statutory and budgetary compliance

- Ensure statutory and other compliances for donor reporting, contracts, agreements with partners/associates

REQUIREMENTS :

- Masters degree in Finance/Business Management or Chartered Accountancy equivalent in a relevant domain

- 10+ years relevant work experience in operations management, finance administration, organizational development or other relevant roles

- Fluency in English and Hindi, spoken and written. Fluency in an additional regional Indian language is an advantage

- Strong communication skills, written and verbal

- Strong knowledge of financial management tools, operational and performance management systems and compliance mechanisms

- Excellent leadership and communication skills
