Director - Operations - 3PL

Director Operations (For a Large 3PL -third party logistics company) - MUMBAI

1) The operations Leader will take care of managing entire Operations of Business Vertical focused on FMCG / FMCD / IT sector clients.

2) We are seeking an operations superstar to launch and manage entire operations of given vertical. You will be point person in the region overseeing the following verticals for our client: Vendors/Supply Chain, 3PL/logistics strategy, Order Management.

3) This person has launched markets for companies before and is fanatical about thinking through requirements, blockers, and project plans to launch. You are determined to achieve your operational vision, but are willing to roll up your sleeves and help the team solve day to day problems until we get there.

4) Similarly, you are constantly thinking about solving problems at scale through building systems and teams and are an expert at balancing resource allocation today vs hiring needs for the future. You know that individuals don't scale, but great teams do and you are always thinking about how we set up and hire the right team to get us to exceed our goals. Structuring and hiring teams is a key metric for success in this role.

5) The right candidate should be highly proficient in all facets of operations for e-commerce businesses including inventory, supply chain, order lifecycles, vendor management and integrations, and experience with 3PL's.

6) A successful candidate knows that an effective operations team is nothing without good reporting and is always looking to equip our business with the right reporting tools so that we can measure our successes and failures. Additionally, the ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills (good documentation goes a long way in remote organizations).

You will

- Assess our processes and logistics set up to date, and make immediate recommendations for process and reporting improvements

- Define and own metrics surrounding all aspects of our operations program, including IT and furniture fulfillment, supply chain/inventory, and vendor management/integrations

- Help strategize, define, and hire to execute programs across the following operations verticals: Logistics, vendor management, order management, supply chain, support

- Structure teams and hire: This is a growth role with the requirement that you build a world class team to help you accomplish your work. After building roadmaps and plans for each operations vertical we need to tackle, you will be empowered to hire the right people to help us get there.

Desired Skills -

- Have a bachelors degree, Masters is a plus

- 15++ years of work experience, with 5 years minimum experience in a leadership role at a tech/tech enabled company or startup

- Have experience launching new markets for companies and scaling operations teams and programs during periods of extreme growth

- Have a deep knowledge of program management, supply chain, vendor/3pl strategy, order management software and tools

- Have experience defining and setting KPI's and a proven track record of exceeding your teams metrics

- Strong communication skills, a culture of escalating issues, an ability to be brutally honest about concerns while maintaining a resilience and solution oriented approach to daily challenges
