Director - Learning & Development - Education Technology (9-15 yrs)
The key focus areas of the initiative / responsibilities of this position include -
(1) Needs Assessment:
a. In collaboration with various departments like education, health etc. identify the essential skills and competencies needed by the members working in these departments.
b. Work with national and state level training institutions to similarly identify the core competencies that their learners need to fulfill their missions effectively.
(2) Source Content:
a. Identify and liaise with global institutions providing on-line, blended and face to face content that map to the skills and knowledge.
b. Undertake quality assurance and assessment of the content by inviting subject matter experts and curating the online offerings
c. Coordinate the process of making these courses available to all teams
a. Ensure successful execution of these courses by coordinating with various technical platforms including those being setup in the future with external agencies.
b. Ensure a seamless system that allows the enrollees to have a high quality learning experience. This will involve setting up helplines and other mechanisms for ensuring that the enrollees feel well-supported through the on-line system.
c. Set up communication systems and provide regular updates to donors, government, and other stakeholders.
The Director will lead the strategy and execution of the vertical. S/he will oversee all aspects of stakeholder management including partnerships. S/he will be a thought leader in setting the strategy for the initiative; ensure partner satisfaction across all stakeholders and support.
This role will require frequent travel within India and overseas.
The Director can expect to manage 2 to 4 Senior Managers and Managers who in turn will manage a team of 2-3 senior associates and associates, totaling an overall team of 6-7 members.
Qualifications and Competencies
Experience in Edtech and managing or leading on-line learning
A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant work experience in high performing environment preferably in the private sector.
Management skills and experience
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including hiring, training, and management of staff
- Experience writing and managing budgets
Policy skills and experience
- Experience working with complex partnerships
- Exceptional communication skills, including writing, conversing and presenting clearly in English
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically frequently and flexibly.
- Proven ability to independently handle multiple diverse assignments at one time, successfully complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines while conducting high-quality work
