Director - IT Finance Systems - SAP

Essential Job Functions (Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities)

This position is a vital part of the IT Finance Systems team and will be responsible for the oversight, strategy, and execution of SAP and other ERP applications. The person in this role will provide thought leadership, plan, organize and manage all phases of day to day systems operations as well as chart and actualize a multi-year technical roadmap for IT Finance Systems. This Director will maintain effective work relationships with key stakeholders and members of multi-functional teams.

(50%) IT Finance Systems Product Management, Architecture and Project Delivery

- Enterprise-wide support, responsible for oversight of capital expenses associated with implementation of all technologies supporting Finance. Plan and be responsible for operating expense for ongoing support of applications.

- Responsible to provide architecture of new solutions, implement, manage and support solutions related to SAP FICO

- Develops processes, procedures and makes technical development decisions for IT Finance applications to implement functional strategies

- Administration and accountability for IT support to Finance/Accounting function including break/fix, process improvement and innovation

- Directs the documentation of business processes, policies, procedures, workflows and user guides

- Full responsibility of application lifecycle management (ALM) within finance function

- Manages direct reports and has strong influence on indirect resources across business segments.

(25%) Strategic direction setting, communication, relationship management

- Develop the IT Finance systems roadmap and manage future system upgrades, major design changes, and potential new system installs

- Establish & maintain relationships with business partners and serve as IT liaison on business requirements, application functionality, feasibility, and manage resource requirements for project requests.

- Up to date knowledge on best practice and tools available in the market that can be utilized to gain efficiency

- Work with the rest of the IT organization to define and accomplish strategic and tactical initiatives

- Hire, retain and develop business/IT analysts and project resources.

(15%) Budgeting /Administration

- Develop & monitor budgets related to IT Finance Systems (capital expenses and operating expenses)

- Develop and Lead, team of Sr Solution Analysts, business analysts and Managers in the resolution issues identified by business, development of process improvements and innovation of new Finance systems solutions/processes

(10%) Security, Risk and Compliance

- Ensure compliance with all applicable change management processes and procedures including internal controls.

- Perform required security monitoring and user access controls across all finance systems and enforce internal and external audit requirements

- Supervisory/ Budgetary/ External Communications

- Reports to Sr. Director, IT Finance and Order Management Systems (OMS)

Budgetary responsibilities of $50K-$5M on average for project initiatives, as well as operating expense responsibility.

The role requires the ability to manage multiple projects, and the ideal candidate must have excellent project management skills.

The role works with and provides direction to consultants / vendors supporting different ERP systems

Architectural review and evaluation of technical solutions

Secondary Functions (IF Applicable)

- Recommend solutions for issues that arise while balancing user needs and IT resources.

- Training and mentoring other Finance systems resources and users.

- Maintain and enforce application business governance rules.

- Superior knowledge of SAP FICO, S/4 Hana, Fiori and Hyperion Finance Systems

Prior work Experience and Educational Requirements

- 7+ years of experience in Finance business process, consulting, problem definition, architecture, design, solutions evaluation, validation, direction setting, and deployment required

- Strong Experience in core SAP finance FICO modules, IDOCs, EDI, and interface integration points with 3rd party systems required

- In Depth technical knowledge to relate application process flows to underlying data structures, tables, integration points, data conversion, and technology processes required

- Must be organized, have the ability to define tasks, establish priorities, and implement according to plan required

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with credibility at all levels of the organization, and a team player outlook with the ability to work well with peers required

- Bachelors degree and/or Masters in Finance, Accounting, or Information Technology required

- SAP certification is a plus.
