About Ashoka Innovation Centre:

Ashoka Innovation Centre (AIC) is a university-wide interdisciplinary initiative with the purpose to solve real-world problems through innovation.

AIC aims to create a network of corporate decision-makers, researchers, faculty members and students with the purpose of developing, adopting and teaching practical tools and frameworks for solving today's business challenges - largely focusing on innovation opportunities, strategies for innovating, leading and organizing for innovation, and capturing economic value from innovation investments.

Three focus areas for center would be:

(a) to design and craft learning journey for students interested in entrepreneurship and start-up ecosystem.

(b) collaborate with industry bodies to create real time learning opportunities via internships, projects etc.

(c) partner and create platforms to enable the use of cutting-edge technologies for innovation.

Role and Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for creating and setting up all aspects AIC, including but not limited to overall strategy and blueprint for implementation. The incumbent would have an opportunity to, work with exceptional business leaders from India and around the globe, collaborate with founder community at Ashoka and to partner with academic thinkers, faculty members and students.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement programs, events and conferences to nurture and promote innovation and entrepreneurship for students at Ashoka.

- Create a strong community, courseware and programs for cohort of students interested in start-ups ecosystem and entrepreneurial journey

- Design and introduce new tools and framework to improve the engagement within the student community, industry body and academia.

- Bring a sense of warmth, positivity, partnership and camaraderie to engaging with various stakeholders, invested in this journey. Also, build relationships within the community by engaging regularly for conferences and talks.

- Organise conferences and talks with imminent speakers on campus, immersion trip to start-ups based out of Bangalore, Silicon Valley, Tel Aviv & other startup hubs across the globe

- Collaborate with academia to integrate instructional strategies and technology that promote project-based learning through an interdisciplinary curriculum.

- Promote Innovation Centre and Maker Space as 'The Hub' to ensure high enrolment and substantial use of these facilities

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate must be an energetic extrovert who is great at networking and business development and brings positive energy to everything they do. They should have a strong desire to form long-lasting relationships with student, faculty, and industry body. They should be proficient in project coordination, team-work and delivering organizational mandate. The person should be an impressive public speaker, and must possess functional and analytical skills. Prior experience from the start-up ecosystem, incubator, accelerator, would be a big plus!

Following are a few specific qualifications & requirements:

- Bachelor's or Masters' degree from a premier institute with a minimum 15 years or more of relevant experience.

- Track record for producing tangible and durable results, ability to work in diverse partnerships and launching new projects

- Conversant and passionate about the intersection between program, policy and advocacy in the area of entrepreneurship development

- Ability to work at a fast pace, juggle multiple projects and thrive under pressure.

- Ability to engage a diverse population of students, faculty, researchers in an open and engaging manner
