Director/Head - Data Science - Natural Language Processing - EdTech (15-20 yrs)

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Data Scientist to join the newly established Ed-Tech venture leading its ambitious vision to develop personalised career centric learning. You will take the lead to develop a vision and a roadmap for our platform infusing it with the cutting edge of science, analytics and insights. AI - advanced supervised and unsupervised Machine Learning models underpin the heart of our model and the Head will take this to the next stage of development and enhancement, working closely with the CEO/CTO/Director of Product and Technology for a confident and growth led platform launch.

You will ideally, have worked in the education, learning or career and development fields in order to successfully design and develop a skills taxonomy framework, an intelligent methodology for job parsing and labour market data analysis and eventually support the development of a robust AI enabled platform that sustains mass personalised learning and career pathways for our users. You will work closely with our product and technology teams to ensure that our data aggregation engine fuels a distinctive experience for our users and can be utilised for both SaaS and PaaS avenues across the wider group. Pre-launch, you will build a data and insights team to ensure that evidence drives future decision making and R and D investments in the platform.

This role will develop as the new venture takes shape and therefore its specification will be reviewed regularly and modified, if required, in accordance with the needs of the future business requirements

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the development of a vision and roadmap for AI and Advanced ML for a personalised data engine of the platform

- Oversee the development of the taxonomy development, competencies mapping and assessment exercise to feed into the development of a career-centric learning model

- Build a wider analytics and insights team to drive a superior product experience and champion an evidence-driven culture for product decision making

- Drive ambitious planning and targets for the team

- Bring experience of and networks with leading third-party vendors and providers to supplement the internal skillsets against ambitious plans

- Lead the design and future development of prediction modelling infrastructure in terms of process, performance and testing

- Manage relationships with key stakeholders in order to achieve greater value in the services offered

- Work with large, complex data sets whilst solving challenging business problems independently and across teams

- Collaborate with internal business stakeholders to identify priorities for the developers and engineers from an AI perspective

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience

- B.Tech/ MT.ech/MCA/MSc in Artificial Intelligence/Data Science or Engineering

- 15+ years of experience in Analytics, Statistical Modelling, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence (Deep Learning & NLP).

- Minimum 5 years in either a start-up or leadership context

- Demonstrable experience implementing machine learning models; from initial conception right through to the final production model
