Director - Finance Transformation - Investment Bank (15-22 yrs)

Responsible for:

- Effective management of the change agenda that includes providing professional oversight of finance to ensure the Company BFS develops and implements the business models, structures and modernization required to deliver the finance operating model.

- Lead the finance transformation program ensuring the development and implementation of new service models that promotes efficiency, customer service, and delivers substantial efficiency saves that are compliant with statutory requirements.

- In consultation with other members of the Company's senior executive community, determine and specify the core requirements of the operational excellence agenda so that the Company delivers the services required to achieve best value in a timely and cost effective manner.

- Apply leading practice around process, organization, technology, service excellence and design across all core finance areas.

- Manage the standardization and simplification of finance processes and controls to make better use of finance resources to enable cost effective operations and sustainable regulatory compliance.

- Lead on the deployment of common financial processes across the Company.

- Work collaboratively in defining and solving problems, generating opportunities, evaluating and agreeing on improvements, related actions and responsibilities.

Key Working Relationships :

- With senior staff within Finance, Ops and other departments across the Company as appropriate

- With the senior representatives of departments across Company acting as Finance Process Improvement Lead to engage and understand key drivers/issues and then design, develop and plan finance projects.

The Head of Finance Transformation role is to:

- Lead Company BFS wide transformation projects and finance performance improvements.

- To help deliver the target finance operating model and translate financial strategy by leveraging change management, transformation, and process design methodology into standardized business process design.

- To develop, co-ordinate and drive the delivery of process analysis, identification of process improvements/impacts of business changes and develop comprehensive process documentation.

- Act as a change agent/coach to instill and sustain changes.

- Drive effectiveness and efficiency by means of process knowledge and leadership.

- Champion and deploy the use of appropriate process and continuous improvement methodologies, techniques and tools.

- To conduct analysis of Company-wide operations to propose fact-based opportunities and recommend solutions based on similar experiences.

- Establish credibility at all levels and builds problem-solving partnerships with the finance process owners.

- Work with the finance process owners and Finance Systems Group to assess the finance landscape and provide insight and past experience to provide innovative finance solutions and hypotheses.

- Assess change readiness and prepare plans for helping process owners and key users through change.

- Gather business requirements through a variety of techniques and facilitate design workshops.

- To lead with the development of conceptual models and high-level and detailed business process designs, and develop the required work products for the business process and application domain of change.

- Co-ordinate finance system and complex process improvement initiatives affecting primarily finance functions but also other business areas as required.

- Work with finance process owners as required ensuring successful deployment of common finance solutions and processes across the Company.

- Coach, mentor and assist project teams.

- Manage, inspire, motivate, supervise and support staff in the department so as to deliver the outcomes set out in the finance programme plans.

Qualifications :

- Educated to first degree standard (or equivalent) in Finance/ICT and/or is a qualified accountant - ACA, CIMA ACCA

- Holds certified qualifications related to lean management and process improvement delivery (desirable)

- Recognized continuing professional and career development

Experience :

- Seasoned senior leader with extensive and significant experience of leading, developing and implementing significant organization change with a proven track record of working in a complex environment. (Essential)

- Extensive and significant highly developed specialist finance systems experience (Essential)

- High-level of knowledge and application in using a wide range of problem solving, decision making and process improvement tools and methods (Essential)

- Demonstrable significant experience of directly managing finance projects delivering significant change (Essential)

- Experience of Oracle/SAP financial accounting systems and involvement in system improvements (Desirable)

- Strong track record of taking the lead with a team of colleagues, in a changing environment (Essential)

- Influenced and facilitated collaborative working amongst colleagues (Essential)

- Experience of making presentations both to knowledgeable audiences and to the uninitiated on finance system and process matters (Essential)
