Reason for hire: The role of the Director Finance is a very critical role for the organisation and it is being upgraded to senior management role. They are looking at a candidate to come on board with an expertise in NGO financial management. Roles &amp; Responsibilities: Accounting &amp; Reporting - Lead and direct a team of professionals for timely and accurate preparation of organizations financial reports, such as profit and loss accounts, balance sheet, management financial reports, and regulatory reports and filings and presenting it to management and Board as required. - Consolidate results across programs, donor commitments and verticals as required. - Identify innovative means for cost reduction, efficiency improvement, strengthening systems and process and building leadership capabilities across team members. Team Leadership - Lead, direct, evaluate, and develop staff to ensure the organisation's accounting activities are conducted accurately, ethically, consistently and according to relevant regulations, laws, and standards. - Manage the Program/project finance team and Accounting team - Assist the Project and State program teams in preparation of monthly/bimonthly forecasts for the cash flow planning in correlation to activities planned in the work plan. Audit, Risk Management and Compliance - Coordinate and lead the annual audit process liaise with external auditors, FCRA audit and donor audit (as applicable). - Initiate management responses and implement recommendations - Ensure regular conduct of risk assessment, monitoring of compliance and inform management on potential risks. - Establish internal process control norms and adequate checks. - Safeguarding organization existing assets and de-risking new projects. - Compliance on all Accounting &amp; legal standards and regulatory requirements. - Review and update of the Finance Manual - Managing Internal &amp; External Stakeholders - Continuous engagement with Internal and external stakeholders including our client's Washington office for collaborating on key strategic initiatives and activities such as Internal Audit, Donor reporting, Monthly financial reporting, legal matters etc. Processes &amp; Systems - Establish best in class IT enabled financial systems and processes covering all finance functions and departments as required. - Under the guidance of CFO, lead accounting system transition within the India team in collaboration with other SMT members, Program leads and their Washington counterparts. - Effectively manage the above change exercise keeping the team committed and motivated. - Replication and standardization of systems and processes across business verticals. Check system anomaly and provide corrective course of action.
