Director - Finance - NGO (12-15 yrs)
1. Provide strategic recommendations and direction to the leadership of the organisations on long term planning.
2. Managing and guiding the processes for financial budgets and forecasting.
3. Establishing and developing relations with external partners and stakeholders of the organisations.
4. Guide the development and implementation of systems for reporting, measurement and support fund raising.
5. Work with the leadership team to optimise resources between different areas based on organizational priorities and impact e.g. reallocating budgets, but within overall approved resources for the year.
6. Ensure an effective and efficient financial model is maintained
7. Sign off capital expenditure within budget. This includes approving purchase or sell decisions for desktop computers, laptops, departmental equipment etc.
8. Understand, forecast, strategize and mitigate key elements of the organisation's risk profile and ensure appropriate financial controls.
9. Monitor and ensure compliance to all legal and regulatory standards (legal, tax, accounting, auditing)
10. Oversee the preparation of all financial records and reporting including MIS, donor reporting etc.
11. Guiding the team to build an accounting system that provides the organisation with quick access to financial information
12. Report finance statements to the board members in the meetings
13. Digitise the finance function to make its functioning more efficient and effective
14. Define and prepare policies required for effectively managing Finance
15. Manage team through coaching, mentoring and continuous feedback and guidance
