Director - Finance - IB Board School (10-20 yrs)
Finance
- Lead the strategic direction of the business and finance function of the India operations.
- Ensure proper accounting and financial records and systems are maintained.
- Lead the preparation of management accounts along with detailed and appropriate analysis for business performance improvement.
- Ensure financial accounts are produced monthly, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards and within timeframes received from Group Finance.
- Manage and sign off the local and international accounting requirements.
- Ensure all statutory accounting and tax returns are produced and submitted in accordance with legislation.
- Leading the preparation, validation and submitting of all required VAT returns, supporting schedules and any documentation/responses as may be required by the local tax authorities.
- To ensure effective internal controls and implement new procedures as necessary.
- Manage the relationships and liaison with external auditors and tax advisors regarding the statutory accounts and other statutory returns.
- Lead the treasury function and cash management to maximise the operational cash with in the business
- Work closely and collaborate with the Nord Anglia Education Finance Manager India to align with NAE processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- In conjunction with the Senior Leadership Teams, produce business plans, annual budgets and quarterly re-forecasts for the schools and business
- Lead the work with the budget holders to determine correct allocation of cost budgets across cost centres and budget headings.
- Work with the admissions staff to generate pupil number forecasts to drive the revenue budget.
- Work with the HR staff to determine the correct staffing structure, associated costs for the budget, and maintain this file for the forecast.
- Manage the budget and forecast process for the schools and business to Oakridge and Nord Anglia
Education deadlines using Nord Anglia Education templates.
- Ensure that cost efficiency is a key part of the budget process, eliminating waste and ensuring bestvalue for money.
Budget Management and Reporting
- Ensure the school maintains costs within agreed budget levels.
- Monitor actual spend against budget on a budget holder and account heading basis.
- Liaise with budget holders on a regular basis to ensure that they are aware of their budgets and what they have spent to date.
- Take action to ensure that budget holders do not go over their budgets during the year.
- Ensure complete management accounts are used to improve performance.
- Review and reporting of the monthly management accounts and timely submission.
- To produce financial and performance reports to the Principals, School Directors, Managing Director and Nord Anglia Education as required.
- Review the reporting packs and propose improvements.
- Produce and submit appropriate capital expenditure proposals and reporting
- Production of weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts to aid both the school and Nord Anglia cash management.
Sales Ledger and Credit Control
- Ensure the timely and accurate production of tuition fee invoices.
- Actively manage the credit control process to ensure that all debts are collected by the due date.
- Actively manage the school's cash flow to maximise efficiencies on cash usage.
Operational Expertise & Resource Management
- Lead all relevant analytics and provide metrics and analysis around the business.
- Lead the implementation and execution of relevant management information systems, planning and deployment working with central teams and resources to deploy on time
Personnel and Staff
- Oversee and manage the workload of the finance team staff and manage their professional development, recruitment and retention
- Lead, coach and develop school Finance Managers to deliver against targets.
- Passionately advocate for education and the NAE brand and serve as visionary leader within the organization to motivate and create high-performing teams.
- Identify training needs/gaps at each of the schools in the region and support the creation of global learning curricula related to Finance and accounts.
- Represent the India International Schools region on all global projects on Finance
Management Competencies
- Ability to manage and lead a team of Finance professionals responsible for various aspects of the finance function.
- Excellent problem solving and trouble-shooting ability. Must display initiative and capability of assuming ownership of projects/task.
- Ability to present to senior management and/or to the Board.

Technical Competencies
Mandatory:
- 10+ years management experience
- IFRs, IndAS and iGAAP knowledge

- Chartered Accountant/MBA Finance from Premium Institutes.
