Job description : 

Our client is looking for Director - Entrepreneurship who will be reporting to Vice Chancellor. The person will be working for a well-known & Top Ranking Engineering University founded in 1985 with over 38,000 students and more than 2600 faculty across all the campuses.

As a Director - Entrepreneurship, the candidate will focus on stirring up the entrepreneurial skills of the students to encourage creative thinking, ability to initiate and decision making to foster student engagement around innovation and entrepreneurship with a focus on product creation and social impact.

Note: Entrepreneurs willing to shift to corporate are welcome to apply for this role.

Roles and Responsibilities of the Director- Entrepreneurship, so designated in relation to the authority concerned, shall be, but not limited

- To provide thought leadership on entrepreneurship, innovation, maker culture and plan to amplify it on and off campus articulating Univeristy vision

- To operationalize programming benchmarks to drive decision-making

- To develop and deliver new programs such as the Startup Challenge, Social Innovation Lab, ThinkTanks, Maker Programming, Coaching/Mentoring Pipeline, etc. to encourage cross-campus entrepreneurial activity

- To strengthen and develop programs, topics, and resources tailored to the needs of emerging and experienced interdisciplinary startup teams

- To leverage internal partnerships to provide engagement opportunities for students, e.g. Startup Coop, Student Leadership, etc.

- To process external relations with companies, non-profits, governmental organizations within the innovation ecosystem

- To develop engagement opportunities for external partners, alumni

- To develop inventory of internal/external partnership opportunities that would elevate University position in the innovation ecosystem

- To sustain ongoing and initiate new partnerships/collaborative projects internally and externally to increase visibility

- To direct and evaluate the administrative staff with respect to programs, conferences, and initiatives of the department

- To identify, recruit, and deploy mentors and entrepreneurs-in-residence to enhance the curricular and co-curricular entrepreneurship experience for students and faculty

- To assist students in fundraising activities for any business plan, i.e. grant proposals, donor funding

- To manage the budget process of the department

Requirements/Eligibility:

- Master's Degree in any discipline from a recognized University/Institute

- Preference would be given to candidate having at least 10 years of experience in similar profile with a reputed University / Higher Educational Institution

- Candidates must have knowledge of new venture ideation, launch, growth and harvest

- Candidates must have the ability to teach and mentor students in new venture development, growth, innovation, and creativity

- Candidates must have strong program development and project management abilities

- Candidates are expected to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must have an intimate knowledge of the higher education landscape in India and internationally

- Candidates with the will to drive the vertical completely by recruiting their own team and set up the policies

Compensation:

- Salary will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and achievements.

- Compensation will not be a constraint for outstanding candidates.
