The Role - As a Director of the Data Engineering &amp; Business Intelligence you will lead a team of highly skilled data engineers. You will be a leader of the team that will develop key parts of the Vivriti Financial Services platform.&nbsp; - The data platform you develop will power the data and analytical computations for the Vivriti Financial Services platform. As one of the earliest members of the engineering team, you will play an instrumental role in defining, leading and implementing Vivriti's data engineering backbone and shape the experience of the customers.&nbsp; - You will work with stakeholders, product managers and business team members to understand the vision for the Vivriti platform and helping in realizing the vision. You will proactively gather and understand feature and module requirements for services you own, disambiguate them, get them implemented by your team and deliver them.&nbsp; - You will be technically hands-on defining and setting up the fundamental infrastructure, developing core, complex parts of your modules and guide your team members technically. You will closely work with other parts of the organization in delivering end user features for the business. You will actively partake in building your team, identifying good talent, bringing them on board, motivating them and helping them give their best. - Our, Vivritis, primary offering is our marketplace where our clients, investors and stakeholders come together and discover each other. A large amount of data about each of these stakeholders is available on the public domain, private domains and our marketplace itself. Basic Qualifications :&nbsp; - Excellent written and verbal communication - Bachelors/Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience - 8-12 years of experience working in software development domains - Sound understanding of CS Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms - 3+ years experience in building large scale and distributed fault tolerant enterprise applications using Hadoop and related open source Big Data Technologies such as Spark, Spark Streaming, Hive, HBase, Kafka, Elastic search - Hands-on technical leader that contributes to technical vision, software architecture, process improvements to deliver scalable big data platforms and services - Management experience in leading a large development team - Experience in building scalable real time systems and streaming solutions is preferred - Programming experience in languages like Java, scala, python or equivalent - Experience with Linix/unix and shell scripting - Experience in developing and deploying scalable and fault tolerant web services using REST - Experience with all aspects of big data systems including database design, ETL, and monitoring - 5+ years of experience with SQL and one or more DBs - Oracle, Mysql, Teradata - Experience working with NOSQL databases such as MongoDb, DynamoDb - Experience using various AWS cloud services including AWS Glue, S3, SQS, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk amongst others - 1+ years experience in using and integrating BI applications such as Qlik, Tableau (preferred) Preferred Qualifications :&nbsp; - Strong Customer Focus - Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoys working in a highly iterative, agile and open team environment - Masters or PhD in computer science - Experience in implementing Machine Learning algorithms Location - Chennai
