- Provide guidance and oversight for import, export and global trade compliance matters. Work with internal and external stakeholders to support compliance with laws, regulations and guidelines mandated.
- Assess and improve existing compliance strategies and procedures and develop and implement procedures, processes, training and systems to support the strategies where needed.
- Respond to inquiries and interact with Customs and other related government agencies, representing client.
- Develop and implement site self-assessment programs and manage Customs and related audits.
- Address new regulations, changes to regulations and changes to the business model by working with sites and markets to determine required business changes.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders, including Tax, Legal, Regulatory, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Supply Chain, Government Agencies,and External agencies.
- Work with Industry peers and associations to benchmark and partner on trade compliance concerns and initiatives.
Experiences Required:
- Minimum 10 years experience in managerial role and Strong managerial skills; experience in managing a diverse team, able to recruit, inspire, educate, develop and direct a team with strategic vision and purpose. Team building skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret Government Regulations and apply business knowledge to develop appropriate compliance actions
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate ideas, collaborate, lead, and persuade others to accomplish challenging goals and objectives.
