Director - Business Planning & Analysis - Private Equity Fund (14-18 yrs)

Position based with a Global Private Equity Fund in Mumbai.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking at a strong finance professional to join the Business Planning & Analysis (BP&A) function which is part of the Finance Organization. BP&A is responsible for the firm financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, Senior Management reporting, profitability analysis and other financial analysis work. The Director position is structured to provide exposure across all disciplines of BP&A and build a comprehensive knowledge of organization businesses and the alternative asset management industry. The Director of Business Planning and Analysis plays a key, hands-on role to coordinate budgeting and forecasting exercises for the company, analyze results and performance against budget, and perform ad hoc analyses. The role will also involve developing presentations for senior management on a regular basis. This is a highly visible role and requires frequent interaction with business and infrastructure heads, portfolio managers, and the senior executive team. They will lead the BP&A team locally in Mumbai.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Coordinate with business-level CFOs, COOs, Business Strategy, portfolio managers, and other stakeholders to define business reporting and analytics requirements and oversee execution of deliverables.

- Coordinate the annual budget process, interim forecast updates, and long-term plan for Apollo's integrated Credit and Insurance platforms, a high-growth and strategic area for the firm.

- Oversee analysis of strategic transactions and projects, interfacing with professionals across the organization.

- Oversee the preparation and analysis of monthly management reports and other analytics.

- Produce high quality, timely and insightful information to help senior management manage the firm and set direction. Respond in a timely manner to all ad hoc questions and requests for information. Become a one stop, widely recognized source for high quality management

- Analyze variances, trends, risks and opportunities, performance against budget/forecast/targets, key business drivers and sensitivities.

- Oversee the preparation of presentations for Senior Management.

- Perform special projects and other duties as required by the needs of the business.

- Develop and improve the financial reporting and business analysis framework; enhance reporting techniques and tools and work with Technology to automate reporting processes. information for the infrastructure departments.

- Responsible for driving relevant process improvements

- People management, including hiring and talent management for team members

- Establishing adequate controls within deliverables and also adhering to risk and controls framework.

- Part of local management team and contribute to growth and initiatives within Powai office.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: (Academic, Professional, Relevant Job Knowledge)

- 14+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience at a Financial Institution

- Minimum five years of managerial experience

- CA or CFA, MBA is not required but a plus

- Operates with high energy; successful - up-and-comer- with endless passion and drive

- Has a record of confident leadership, sound judgment and creative solutions

- Demonstrated ability to influence senior level stakeholders

- Excellent communication skills and organizational savvy with experience managing teams

- Ability to train high performing talent

- Analysis requires high level of cognitive and financial reasoning capabilities

- Strong attention to detail

- Flexible and comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

- Strong excel and PowerPoint skills
