Director - Business Development/Partnerships - NGO (15-25 yrs)

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Provide strategic direction to help the organization grow.

2. Identify opportunities to develop and strengthen relationships to advance the business.

3. Take a hands-on approach to the organization's marketing efforts.

4. Work closely with executives and operations specialists to improve operations planning and overall efficiency.

5. Develop a partner ecosystem strategy and roadmap.

6. Develop and manage strategic account plans and key executive relationships, including growth opportunities, action planning, day-to-day relationships and business growth forecasting.

7. Communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand stakeholder needs and goals, generate leads, identify funding opportunities, and deliver benefits and resources.

8. Proactively monitor and communicate partner usage, adoption and performance metrics, working to identify potential solutions for improvement; conduct periodic strategic business and operations reviews with the company, and its partners.

9. Develop a work plan with financial goals, timelines and funding opportunities.

10. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

11. Build and manage a high-performing team

- Lead and drive all initiatives and programs aimed at achieving mission and goals.

- Build and hire the right resources in the program and operations team.

- Instill an entrepreneurial mindset, and establish a culture of high accountability and high performance/ excellence within the institution.

- Establish effective decision-making processes and other structures within the team to enable the institution to achieve its long and short-term goals and objectives.

12. Increase creative capacity to develop and secure projects, in addition to managing external relationships with a diverse range of donors.

Manage and run the day-day-operations:

- Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for key initiatives

- Ensure that the academic programs, digital priorities, and key compliances are in alignment with the goals and objectives and operating smoothly

- Oversee and manage the human resources, finances and allocate necessary resources (capital, human etc.) to ensure effective execution of organization's priorities

- Assist and support the CTO in operationalizing digital goals and objectives

- Socialize and push for adoption of digital and technological efforts undertaken by the Digital team among all employees.

- Build ISDM as an Exemplar organization in the social sector:

- Become a role model organization for the DM principles and frameworks we teach.

- Build robust governance mechanisms to protect and strengthen the organization.

Educational Qualifications and Experience Required:

- The candidate should possess a minimum qualification of a Masters degree in Management studies, Business Administration and related fields and a strong orientation towards Humanities/Liberal Arts

- The candidate should have at least 15 years of total work experience and spent 5+ years in a leadership and management role leading strategy, people and teams with operational excellence

- The candidate should have been responsible for a scale-up in business operations within his/her organisation

- Outstanding presentation skills and the experience and proclivity to be an outgoing spokesperson, relationship builder, and fundraiser.
