Director - Business Development - BFSI (10-20 yrs)
Our client is a Fortune 500 company and a member of the S&P 500, is traded on the New York Stock Exchange. They have approximately $30 billion in assets and $9 billion in annual revenue. They have approximately 14,500 employees worldwide and is headquartered in New York's financial district.
Job Purpose:
To create long term business value through developing and executing the Connected Living new business growth strategy; this encompasses developing relationships and winning new business across key verticals such as Financial Services, Telcos/MVNOS, OEMS and Retailers/ E-Tailers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop connected living new business growth strategy to identify a clear prospect target list ("strike zone");
- Build senior, multi-level relationships with strike zone prospects through leveraging existing relationships and working with marketing to execute targeted marketing campaigns;
- Track all opportunities and contacts with prospects in Salesforce to create one system of record;
- Lead regular weekly and monthly monitoring of pipeline to ensure oversight of progress against annual AOP goals
- Identify specific opportunities that meet the strategic, risk and value criteria
- Understand the needs of each client and develop a customer value proposition for each opportunity that uniquely positions client as the preferred partner of choice
- Lead RFPs/Tenders working in conjunction with the bid management function
- Maximise the probability of winning new business through deploying the strongest team
- Lead new opportunities from inception to signing & launch through management of a virtual team from across the business
- Work closely with Solutions, Business Change & Operations to identify the business requirements and develop a plan for delivery of the solution
- Obtain commercial and organisational approval of all new contracts ensuring compliance with European regulations.
- Ensure a seamless, timely hand-over of new business opportunities to the Connected Living account management team
- Work closely with Product Team to understand new products & product roadmap for existing products. Ensure that the right prospects are being identified for each product. Refine product development through playing in client feedback
- Insight and monitoring of the market landscape to ensure client is well placed to take advantage of new or emerging trends via its new product offerings
- Ensure market, client and customer insight are fed back into the business to ensure that client remains at the market forefront
Suitable Candidate:
- Proven experience as Business Development Director or other relevant role
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing and managing relationships with key clients
- Detailed experience of working in a regulated role in financial services, insurance or telecommunications
- In-depth understanding of market research methods and analysis
- Solid knowledge of performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
- Commercial awareness partnered with a strategic mind-set
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills; ability to build teams and inspire people.
- Strong strategic skills: proven track of successfully having used & gained market knowledge and customer insights to feed into commercial strategy and marketing plans.
- Strong analytical skills: ability to analyse data to translate market insight from internal and external sources into powerful insights
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a strong level of initiative and assertiveness
- Innovative thinking: ability to identify improvement opportunities, challenge status quo and drive changes
- The ability to quickly drive decisions and consensus building in multi-stakeholder environment. Proven ability to build & sustain successful business relationships.

- Bachelor's degree or experience equivalent required
