We have an excellent and immediate opportunity for a Director-Automation with overall of 12-18 yrs of experience @Bangalore.

About the client:

An Indian IT Services company headquartered in Bangalore, India. It was founded in 1989 as a Network Integration Company with an initial funding of - 2 million from SBI Capital Markets Limited. Assisted in the introduction of new technologies to the Indian Market namely, Compaq, Cisco, SynOptics, and Netscape

Job Description:

As a Director for Automation, the individual will lead the Production Engineering team and own the Point Automation roadmap across all the engagements.

Key role expectations are:

- Create, own and execute the automation roadmap across multiple engagements using various tools and technologies, within given constraints.

- Act as the Lead Business Analyst for the automation activities in the IT Infrastructure domain.

- Identify opportunities of automation within engagements; create business justification for the same, evaluate build vs buy decisions, identify risks and solutions and implement solutions.

- Design and implement the delivery process using appropriate SDLC methodologies and tools.

- Own the business requirement gathering and analysis, design of the solution, effort estimation and formulation of resource requirements, tracking of progress, reporting status and issue resolution.

- Own the PMO for the projects being executed.

- Train, motivate and mentor team members.

Key Responsibility Areas:

Project Management

- Lead the Requirement Gathering and analysis activity.

- Effort estimation, scheduling, resource requirements, etc.

- Deployment of resources to execute multiple projects simultaneously.

- Risk identification and resolution.

- Track and review Development/QA progress.

- Reporting of status to key stake holders.

Process Management

- Implement formal SDLC process as a part of development process.

- Implement PMP/Agile based Project Management process.

- Identify and implement tools for Build/QA/Versioning/Bug tracking/Document repository, Project tracking and reporting, etc.

People Management

- Hire resources according to project requirements.

- Mentor and train resources to acquire new skills.

- Performance management of resources through a process of continuous monitoring and feedback mechanism.

Desired Skills and Experience

- Educational B.E., B.Tech. Or Equivalent in any discipline of Engineering.

- Desirable certifications in TOGAF, PMP, ITIL, Agile Scrum.

- Experience At least 12 years of industry experience

- At least 5 years of experience in leading a development team.

- At least 5 years of experience in implementing automation projects across various Infrastructure services amp; technologies like Compute, Networking, Storage, etc.

Job-related Skills:

Technical Skills:

- Should have experience in coding/scripting using technologies like C#/.Net, Python, PowerShell, etc.

- Should have exposure to Monitoring tools (like Nagios, Zenoss, etc.) and ITSM tools (Remedy, ServiceNow, etc.).

- Should have exposure to developing web-based Dashboard and reporting applications. Professional Skills:

- Demonstrated commitment to continuous personal improvement of business and technical skills, including the ability to learn and apply new technologies and techniques.

- Strong service attitude and a commitment to quality.

- Flexible, continuous learner and knowledge sharer, enthusiastic, personable self-starter, works well in team environment, appreciates challenge, comfortable and effective working in new areas that require experimentation and rapid problem solving

- Management/Personal Skills Management Skills:

- Should have exposure to Project Management.

- Should be comfortable with SDLC methodology.

- Should have exposure to PMP/Agile based Project Management.

- Should have exposure to Build/Version Control/Test tools.

- Should have exposure to People Management (Hire/Train/Mentor).

- Personal Skills Strong listening and question based solutioning skills.

- Ability to uncover business challenges and develop a custom solution to solve those challenges Ability to secure trust and influence over peers in the organization.

- Ability to clearly form and communicate ideas for wide audiences, both internal and external client stakeholders.

- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are required.

- Should have the ability to work in ambiguous scenario
