Introduction:

Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation (Shakti) was established in 2009 to support India's developmental and energy security objectives. The organization works to facilitate India's transition to a cleaner energy future by aiding the design and implementation of policies that promote solutions across clean power, energy efficiency, sustainable transport, and climate policy segments. Over the last many years, Shakti has become a trusted partner of many policy makers who have requested for Shakti's input. Shakti is funded by global and Indian philanthropies with a strong interest in preventing climate change and mitigating harmful carbon emissions.

Shakti believes that robust policy frameworks are necessary for large scale, transformative change. Therefore, they bring together experts from government (national, state and local decision-makers), business, civil society and academia to craft robust policies. They evaluate the results of their own work rigorously, measuring success using clear metrics based on quantifiable clean energy contributions. They work through cross-sectoral strategies with the goal of achieving synergistic results and broad impact and emphasize on strategic communications to expand their impact and reach.

Reason to Hire:

Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation is looking to hire the Director / Associate Director (ZEPPAL Programme) to design and implement a comprehensive multiyear strategy to bring about material policy change in reducing GHG emissions from the sector by working collaboratively with key public and private sector stakeholders and the Civil Society Organization (CSO) ecosystem. The incumbent will be responsible to independently handling a program portfolio of approximately USD 1 million annually.

The organisation is looking for a leader who aspires to make a difference on the fight against climate change, one of the greatest global challenges of this generation, and to work with the who's who of the sector.

Must Haves:

- Master's degree or equivalent in Agriculture / Economics / Environment / Public Policy / or related stream from a reputed University / Institute

- Minimum 12 years (for Director) and 10 years (for Associate Director) of relevant work experience of which at least 5 years' experience in Agriculture Sector is required.

- Strong technical knowledge of Agriculture and related issues, policies, regulations, and programs at international, national, state and city level

- Ability to interact with a wide variety of external stakeholders including government officials, and representatives from private sector, civil society organisations, and national and international think tanks and research institutionsSuperior teamworking and collaboration skills.
