Director - Analytics/Underwriting/Credit Risk - NBFC (4-10 yrs)

We are a startup platform working in unsecured loan module.

You will lead, develop and monitor credit policies and underwriting guidelines related to a credit line business in a company. The primary objective is improving and supervising the underwriting and credit risk model, processes, effectively challenging Business Line, Operations, and Product teams, and managing key stakeholders to optimize outcomes. Outcomes can range anywhere from reducing operational costs in underwriting or credit monitoring, reducing turnaround time or improving overall system efficiency.

What we are looking:

- At least 5 years of experience in NBFC is mandatory

- Must have managed teams & delivered high-quality results

- Extensive domain experience in Capital markets and structuring experience are crucial to evaluate distribution strategy and mechanics.

- Must be having 4 years of experience in credit risk modelling with grip on modelling around bureau data

- Hands on experience at underwriting, risk management in banks / unsecured loans sector

- Thorough knowledge of legal, regulatory and compliance issues with regard to this Business.

What you will do:

- Understand and further develop risk appetite and guidelines around this business.

- Manage risk of loan portfolio including regular reviews and reporting.

- Responsible for independently reviewing, analyzing and recommending credit hold and underwriting amounts in a pressured deal environment.

- Responsible for ongoing monitoring and credit reviews of various loan portfolios in multi-grade credit profiles including internal and regulatory rating assignments, identification of underwriting weaknesses and recommending action steps based on our risk appetite. Assess and determine de-risking strategies if required.

- Make presentations to senior management during transactions, ad hoc Credit Committees, and industry reviews.

- As required, participate in internal projects that improve credit process efficiency and effectiveness to assist in achieving key strategic objectives.

- As required, work with junior credit officers as needed to provide training and mentoring

- Identify and communicate technical and strategic matters to both clients and upper management

- Work closely with the AI/ML team to evolve the risk model with more data sources, partnerships and industry insights
