PURPOSE OF THE ROLE :


The role is responsible for operating an efficient category supply chain by maintaining optimum service levels and inventory levels with minimum costs.

This role is also required to create a strong and compliant supplier base for ensuring supply security along with managing and optimizing the compressible cost base pertaining to medium spend category (eg. for closures 350 cr). The objective of the role is to ensure customer satisfaction to stakeholders across manufacturing (ensuring material availability per service requirements), quality (per standards) and support renovation/ innovation initiatives across the organization.

TYPICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS :

Qualification : B.Tech and MBA

Experience : Demand procurement experience of around 4-5 years in FMCG or related industry

Knowledge & skills :

- Excellent MS Excel skills

- Excellent data management skills

- Ability to build good relationship with people

- Good understanding of Packaging Components and relevant information on drivers for the category

- Stays updated with new innovations in packaging in FMCG and related industry

1. Adherence to the Budgets and Ensure Savings against relevant cost base

- Responsible for overseeing and streamlining category supplies across categories

- Responsible for framing and implementing cost containment strategies

- Provide cost inputs and budgets for IOP as well as strategy plan

- Responsible for securing long term contracting and supplier security for key PM like containers, ENA, scotch imports (including within Diageo) etc.

- Drive land cost reduction initiatives specific to category

- Rate Variance on Direct Materials (PM, ENA, BM, Imports)

- BVE, FFG savings

2. Ensure Optimal Delivery against Service Requirements

- Manage category supplies for all direct materials across 90+ USL own & third-party bottling locations

- Oversee the inventory/stock availability for key relevant spend category/ item(s)

- Analyse structured feedback received from key internal customers/stakeholders with respect to the inventory and OTIF Requirements

- Inventory Levels against budget

- Material Availability Scores Across PM categories of closures etc. as relevant

3. Ensure meeting of Customer Quality expectations

- Ensure and control supply quality as per internal customer requirements

- Develop and implement action plans based on the customer feedback received from the internal and external stakeholders on customer satisfaction

- Improve and augment supply pool to provide best in class quality & supply capability within supply pool

- Collaborate with internal customers and external suppliers to bring about transformational projects serving customer requirements like UTC etc.

4. Stakeholder Management

- Work closely with all the internal customer teams to develop forecasting methods for various categories

- Develop new categories of demand procurement items and ensure the critical categories are well-serviced & managed

- Ensure quality requirements are met, regulatory aspects and changes thereof are implemented without disruption of supplies by ensuring minimal write-offs

- Customer Satisfaction feedback

5. New Vendor and Supplier Development

- Develop and support the process of empanelling new vendors based on their capability, process orientation and infrastructure alongside the commercial consideration

- Review supplier performance quarterly (SPM) in alignment with procurement for improvements

- Support the quality and BCC teams to resolve the challenges on the incoming materials and initiate supplier visits for corrective actions and way forward for new suppliers
