1. To ensure that the business has a clear and consistent strategy for the deployment and management of manpower, ensure legal compliance and provide Industrial Relations Support and expertise across the Supply Chain business. 2. Guide on the management of local labour / union issues for smooth operations of business. 3. Provide support to & guide business heads to handle disciplinary issues. 4. Provide advice / training in grievance handling and disciplinary procedures to line managers. 5. Work closely with the Procurement Team on the criteria for Selection of Manpower Supply agencies with a focus on their ability to deliver in terms of quality of people, legal compliance, Industrial relations and effective management of socio-political local issues. 6. Ensure governance for contract labour management and manage the relationship with vendors to achieve the business objectives. 7. Ensure statutory amendments are communicated appropriately. 8. Ensure all legal compliances related to labour legislation through regular audits. 9. Liaise with various Government authorities 10. Anticipate local issues and take appropriate steps to avoid interference from local unions / politicians at warehousing locations. 11. Ensure proactive ER support to minimise legal risk and union related issues, work stoppages etc. 12. Liaison with Legal counsel across the country for advice and court matters. 13. Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance. 14. Due Diligence for start-ups. 15. Design and deliver a framework to manage contract labor and legal compliance related to contract labor. 16. Provide framework to Regional HR Manager for handling employee grievances and discipline effectively. 17. Guide the team during audits.
