Job Purpose:

- To Deliver the Group Datacenter services to all the businesses by complying with the committed SLA.

- Create and execute a clear strategy for the Datacenter operations and Cloud to ensure achievement of Shared services.

- Drive Datacenter & Cloud governance risk & Compliance projects globally across 16 businesses of Aditya Birla Group.

- Enhance and sustain capability of the datacenter shared services to further grow its position as an exemplary operations group.

Job Context & Major Challenges :

The Shared infrastructure services have established credibility within the group by providing Data Center facilities and Management Services. Data Protection and Cloud services to internal group companies within reasonable cost & time.

While the existing role performs responsibility in area of Datacenter services availability, planning and budgeting, cost optimization the position demands holistic approach to Group in terms of better controls in area of governance.

Further it is observed that the position demands following things in regular fashion

1. Ensure all teams successfully adhere to operational standards, escalating issues whilst maintaining ownership through to resolution.

2. Drive service improvement plan and periodical service review with business on operational issues.

3. Operations forecasting and planning, resource risk management and capacity planning.

4. Frequent IT audits on business units as per the IT policy guidelines.

The Managed infrastructure portfolio under BMCSL company has experienced considerable growth over a period of last 5/6 years and will continue to grow in terms of services and revenue. Today the Primary datacenter is in Mumbai, hosting a total of 100+Racks and 1200+critical assets and Secondary datacenter in Hyderabad, hosting total of 30+Racks and 400+assets.Some of the businesses even have a Near DR setup to support zero data loss situation. With these volumes and exponential demands brings following challenges for this role

2.Moving up the value chain by constantly identifying business opportunities and look to provide more analysis and business intelligence

3. Getting the technology right to reduce the manual input and improve the operational efficiency

4. Maintain and sustain the robust Datacenter infrastructure to provide high availability, security and reliability with the same level of performance.

Principal Accountabilities:

Accountability & Supporting Actions

I .Operational advice, planning, and management

a. Take accountability for the efficient datacenter operations.

b. Facilitate business engagement for the Shared services service catalogue

c. Establish performance and reporting measures to provide an effective basis for decision-making.

d. Establish a culture of process adherence to improve quality of service.

e. Deliver managed datacenter services as per defined SLAs with customers

II: Datacenter and cloud governance, risk and compliance

a. Measure and analyze the compliance requirements and mitigate the gaps.

b. Drive standardization of technologies across group and geographies.

III: Customer Service and Support

a. Conduct service reviews with customers at regular intervals.

b. Advise businesses with regards to service requirements and promote available services

c. Develop and implement service improvement plans

III: Vendor and Supplier Management

a. Formulate and monitor supplier SLA

b. Perform periodical SLA reviews with the suppliers

c. Develop and implement service improvement plans

d. Bring value add from vendors in terms of innovation and process automation.

III. Financial Management

a.To prepare annual budget for the datacenter services as per forecasted service requirement by business units.

b.To monitor and control the cost of services as per budgets.

F Leadership

a.Lead high-performing teams through coaching and mentoring, to build and grow operational capability.

b.Define a develop an IT vision and roadmap for the Datacenter Services.

Job Purpose of Direct Reports:

1.Manager- Data Center:

To engage with Businesses and manage Out-sourced teams to provide shared Data center Server Management services within defined SLAs

2.Manager- Storage & Backup:

To engage with Businesses and manage Out-sourced teams to provide Storage and Backup Management services within defined SLAs

3.Manager- Server and Cloud Management

- To Drive, plan & organize the shared services operations to ensure 24- 7- 365 of availability of business-critical applications hosted on cloud so that business can perform transactions.

- To study and provide a best fit cloud solution for meeting the business requirement by carrying out the techno-commercial comparison.

- To ensure compliance of Cloud standards in terms of incorporation of new cloud adaption plans and cloud management and deployment of new setup.
