Dexter Angels - Investment Analyst/Associate - Venture Capital

Dexter Angels is a leading angel syndicate which invests in seed rounds of tech startups in India. We are looking for an Analyst/Associate to join the investment team.

What would an ideal candidate look like ?

We don't have a structured JD, as a core member of a small investment team you will be dabbling with several roles involved in the firm. As an investment professional in VC, you would be involved in deal sourcing, evaluation, managing the portfolio and playing a role in supporting investees in their growth.

Ideal candidate would be someone who likes to take ownership of making own investment decisions. This is a role for a candidate who is looking for building a long term career in the VC industry

Candidates who like to gorge on any content related to venture and are deep into startups would find themselves in an ideal company. Ex-entrepreneurs who want to move into investments are welcome.

Key responsibilities :

- Source new investment opportunities

- Evaluate opportunities : due-diligence, running the deal with network of investors, negotiations

- Work with portfolio companies

- Anything or everything which helps build the Dexter brand in the industry

Few points to note :

- Working in VC industry requires one to deal with ambiguity and data scarcity, thus only a deep interest helps one thrive in this industry

- Outstanding Interpersonal skills, with an ability to converse with investors and entrepreneurs and build a strong network

- Ability to mine data, think critically and do primary and secondary research on business models. Keen interest in reading about business and management

- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with an ability to present your arguments in a crisp and clear fashion

- A motivated individual with an entrepreneurial mindset

- An experience of 1-5 years in venture capital/investment banking/entrepreneurship is required. Good network in the entrepreneurial ecosystem will be useful
