Currently we are looking for a "Dy Manager/Manager- Logistics Commercial" for a leading paints manufacturing company.

Job Location is Mumbai

Job Description:

The Logistics-Commercial role reports to the Senior Manager-Commercial and involves planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations including warehousing, transportation, and supply chain processes. The primary focus is on maintaining cost efficiency and timelines throughout the logistics operations.

Strategic Responsibilities:

- Identify reputable and versatile transporters for the Paint and liquid chemicals industry.

- Optimize transportation through rail and waterways where possible.

- Finalize freight rates based on factors such as diesel rates, demand and supply, movement frequency of finished goods, inter-hub transfers, tertiary freight, and dead freight.

- Negotiate and finalize freight rates for Pan India lane matrix, inter-hub movements, Buber movement, and tertiary freight.

- Identify warehouses and C&F agents based on requirements.

- Coordinate and finalize necessary assets at the warehouse.

- Conduct cost-benefit analysis to ensure adherence to budgeted cost and timelines.

Transactional Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with the plant dispatch team for daily truck placement and dispatches.

- Facilitate the signing of agreements and contracts with the support of the legal team.

- Optimize freight based on truck capacity and space availability in warehouses to minimize dead freight.

- Collaborate with the sales commercial team at the hub to handle damaged stock and liquidation through insurance or settlements with transporters.

- Finalize agreements with warehouses and C&F agents in coordination with the sales commercial team.

- Prepare comparative statements and raise purchase orders based on approvals.

- Monitor vendor performance, compliance with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements.

Requirements:

- Graduation in any stream (relevant field preferred).

- 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in logistics.

- Proficiency in using procurement tools such as SAP MM or any ERP system.

- Exposure to Ariba, e-auctions, Advanced Excel, and transportation management tools is advantageous.

- Strong knowledge of supplier analysis, contract language, compliance requirements, and financial risk.

- Ability to develop and execute business continuity strategic plans to achieve financial targets.

- Proven track record of building collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues.

- Excellent negotiation, oral, and written communication skills.
