Deputy Manager - Compensation & Benefits - FMCG (5-11 yrs)

Job Description :

- Under the direction of Senior Manager - Compensation Programs and Systems, the Deputy Manager - Compensation & Benefits is an advisor for Compensation & Benefits within India, Sub-Sahara Africa, and the Middle East, partnering with Human Resource Centers of Excellence as appropriate.


- Develops and implements plans, policies and programs to compensate employees in accordance with competitive markets and/or as regulated by labor contractual agreements, in compliance with global, national and local laws and regulations.


- Provides research, analysis and metrics for the development of compensation strategies with particular focus on new, hot or fast-moving markets and job families.


- Proposes compensation programs that consider both company and local market compensation practices.


- Partners and assists the Head - C&B, India, SSA, MEA on the design, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of benefits plans, policies and programs in all India, Sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East markets.


- Provides analysis of current benefit packages in the region against local, country or regional practices to understand the competitiveness, compliance, and cost efficiency of current benefit packages, conducts cost simulation and makes recommendations regarding benefit plan design changes.

Specific Responsibilities :

1. Conducts and analyzes market compensation surveys and survey information to support competitive compensation classifications and individual pay. 


- Prepares and studies market compensation data analyses and reviews job descriptions, recommending appropriate compensation levels. Coordinates the market survey participation process for the region.

2. Assist with analysis of current benefit packages in the region against local, country or regional practices to understand the competitiveness, compliance, and cost efficiency of current benefit packages, conduct cost simulation, and makes recommendations regarding benefit plan design changes.

3. Designs and develops policies and programs for compensating employees to assure competitiveness, consistency, equity and validity; giving consideration to individual country practices, laws and regulations.

4. Keeps track of Benefits renewal calendars to ensure key renewal timelines and activities are appropriately followed and conducted in each market.

5. Research compensation best practices and programs for local markets, hot skills, and job families. Makes recommendations for adaptation of programs as appropriate and partners with business unit HR to drive the approval and execution of these programs.

6. Maintains accurate, up-to-date records of current benefit programs including coverage, rates, and competitiveness for each location for all markets.

7. Participates in the development of job evaluation and performance evaluation tools to effectively measure position responsibility. Designs, develops, and implement proposals that ensure a successful transition to a job architecture.

8. Works with Global Benefits team to prepare the necessary documentation to obtain approval of benefit plan design changes.

9. Maintains liaison with organizations, other companies, professional groups, etc., to keep abreast of new compensation and benefit developments and exchange information.

10. Reviews compensation activities to ensure compliance with local wage, salary and hour laws and regulations and company approval policy and procedures. Co-leads the W&B process as one of the regional compensations and benefit leads.

11. Implements the communication channels to keep supervision and associates informed on compensation and benefits administration policies, procedures and programs.

12. Creates, conducts or participates in training sessions on topics related to compensation and benefits.
