Safari is in the business of manufacturing and trading of luggage and luggage accessories. There are two broad categories of luggage i.e hard luggage and soft luggage. Hard luggages are mainly made of Poly Propylene (PP) and Poly Carbonate (PC) and manufactured in-house by Safari at its Plant located at Halol, Gujarat. Soft luggages are made of fabrics of various kinds and are mainly imported by Safari.
Job responsibilities :
- The role would be responsible for managing the entire manufacturing operations and will have the strategic and tactical responsibility for implementing manufacturing strategy to ensure production meets the required deadlines, cost and quality standards.
The key responsibilities of the role include :
- Ensuring reliable and efficient running of manufacturing processes.
- Organizing and delivering production output as planned requirements
- Developing and Implementing best industry practices like SMED, TPM etc.
- Developing and managing Productivity Improvement / cost reduction across all functions including Production, Maintenance, Stores etc.
- Planning and executing maintenance activity to ensure equipment up-time and keeping the plant safe and compliant.
- Increasing the capacity of the plant, reducing the wastage and improving the quality standards
- Health and Safety Management, Risk Management and Inventory Management
- Reporting of production KPIs to management
- Suggesting innovative practices and lean projects to improve the operational efficiency
- Developing and testing new concepts, new products with continuous consultation with design & manufacturing team
