Overall Purpose: - Overall responsibilities of all IR, statutory &amp; union-related matters. - Ensures healthy relationship between management and unions. - Responsible for wage negotiations and wage settlement with unions, - Contract labour management &amp; all allied activities. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement IR strategies for the port - Conduct a thorough study to understand the union dynamics, political affiliations, union's decision-making structure etc. - Formulates and administers labour related policies in discussion with management to ensure harmonious relations between management and unions - Ensure all documentation pertaining to labour unions is done and updated from time to time - Develop a robust network to pre-empt IR issues and take preventive actions to avoid the same - Ensure Long Term Wage Agreements with unions on timely basis without any IR issues &amp; business loss Wage negotiation and wage settlement with unions - Develop and maintain cordial relationship with various state and central government officials - Should be well-informed up-to-date on changes to labour laws, arbitration decisions, court judgements and anything else that may affect union-management relations - Set-up Grievance redressal/dispute resolution mechanism to address labour issues and ensures amicable settlement of disputes - Explore ways and means to optimise manpower in order to support change management initiatives rolled out by management from time to time Special Skills/Attributes: - Should be well versed ORIYA language. - Expert in Labour Laws &amp; IR matters - Excellent Communication &amp; Negotiations skills - High Integrity - Liasoning Skills - Should have hands-on experience of dealing with Unions
