Roles &amp; Responsibilities: - The Deputy Director, Monitoring &amp; Evaluation will play a pivotal role in building and embedding the M&amp;E capability .S/He will ensure development and operationalization of a robust M&amp;E system for all programmes, ensure high-quality monitoring and evaluation of programme delivery, provide recommendations for adaptive management based on insights, risks identified and emerging trends, and will also supporting quality, impactful reporting Key Responsibilities: - Responsible for setting up institutional level M&amp;E plan and systems - Development and (and ensuring) alignment of programme/project/intervention level M&amp;E plans with the institutional SRF (Strategic Results Framework). - Supporting programme staff in planning for and executing M&amp;E activities, including data collection methodology and tools, data management, analysis and use. - Conducting reviews of key M&amp;E approaches, processes and tools to effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement - Conducting periodic monitoring field visits and leading M&amp;E manager(s) in their monitoring visits - Providing timely and relevant data and reports as required - Working with the Senior Management Team (SMT), Heads of Implementation, the technology team and knowledge partners to define metrics and how to measure them - Capacity building and training of programme and M&amp;E staff on data, analysis and M&amp;E technical and conceptual areas - Coordinate all M&amp;E capacity-building activities,as required, Must Haves: - A relevant advance degree in any subject with minimum 10 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation of international development projects, including but not limited to collecting and analyzing data, developing project indicators, and supporting performance monitoring and reporting. - Proven expertise in quantitative and qualitative methodologies and data analysis. - Experience in conducting field monitoring and research and producing reports and analysis such as case studies and stories - from the field for communication purposes - Significant competency modeling, synthesizing and presenting quantitative analysis and data in a variety of formats (Power Point, Word, Excel, etc.) using a variety of software packages (SPSS or equivalent statistical package, Excel, etc.) Excellent oral and written communication skills.
