Job Description

Role Overview: The Deputy Chief Financial Officer (Deputy CFO) supports the CFO & Management team in overseeing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring financial stability, compliance, and strategic growth. This role involves financial planning, risk management, reporting and leadership in accounting, treasury, and budgeting functions. The Deputy CFO may act on behalf of the CFO in their absence and works closely with senior management to drive financial strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities-

Financial Strategy & Business Growth:

- Develop and execute financial strategies to support the company's growth in software/SaaS.

- Lead financial planning for product development, M&A, and global expansion.

- Evaluate pricing models, recurring revenue strategies, and customer lifetime value (LTV).

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):

- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for scalability.

- Analyze KPIs such as ARR (Annual Recurring Revenue), CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), churn rate, and gross margins

- Optimize cost structures for R&D, sales, and operations.

Investor & Stakeholder Relation:

- Manage relationships with VCs, private equity, and board members.

- Lead fundraising efforts (debt/equity) and IPO preparations if applicable.

- Present financial performance and growth strategies to investors.

Revenue Recognition & Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with revenue recognition and other IT industry accounting standards.

- Oversee audits, tax strategies, and regulatory filings Implement strong internal controls for financial integrity.

Treasury & Capital Management:

- Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment strategies.

- Optimize funding for innovation, infrastructure, and global operations.

- Oversee financial risk management (currency, interest rates).

Technology & Financial Systems:

- Drive digital transformation in finance (ERP, AI-driven forecasting, automation).

- Implement scalable financial tools

- Ensure cybersecurity in financial transactions and data protection.

Cross-Functional Leadership:-

- Partner with CTO/CIO on R&D budgeting and ROI analysis.

- Collaborate with sales/marketing on pricing, contracts, and deal structuring.

- Mentor and scale the finance team (accounting, FP&A, tax, payroll).

Qualifications & Skills

- Education: MBA-Finance/Certified Chartered Accountant with 10-15 years of experience, with minimum 5+ years as Deputy CFO or senior finance leadership role in IT, SaaS, or tech-driven industries.

- Leadership: Strong executive presence with experience in scaling startups or managing public company finances.

- Communication: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills for investor relations.
