The USI Consulting Dev CoE leadership has noted the significant growth of the function (CAGR growth of more than 30% Y-o-Y), and acknowledged the need for developing high caliber, professional services leaders to manage a profitable and client centric practice by 2020 and beyond. Given this backdrop, the US India Consulting has a position of an AVP to lead the learning and development efforts for a 15,000 people professional services organization based in India. This position will act as a Development Advisor/partner for the USI Consulting Business leadership and will engage in crafting, executing and driving the learning and development strategy for this organization. In this role, you will also lead and manage a 18 member multi-locational team that will deliver on the annual learning strategy that you create. In addition the individual will also manage Industry learning where the major consumer is USI Consulting.

What You Will Do:

Across USI Consulting and National Industry, you will act as an advisor to the business and have accountability of managing the learning budget for the Consulting group for the fiscal year. You and your team will build effective and efficient intervention and service offerings which will help the business build capabilities at scale, enhance operational efficiencies and prepare for the future. You will deliver insights to the business, identify trade-offs and help them make informed decisions.

Here are the detailed role expectations:

Strategy

- Acts as a strategic advisor to business leaders across the FSS in developing an informed and short/medium and long term Talent Development strategy across the region

- Drive key decisions around Talent Development and their alignment with the business and Talent strategy

- Develop and sustain a high-touch learning culture and enablement of a consistent approach toward development

- Drive capability enhancement of roles within the practice

- Align L&D investment with key regional, functional and firm level goals by planning, budgeting, accurate forecasting and vendor management

- Identify and work through interlocks with business strategy to optimize resourcing, effort deployment and program investment

- Help business leaders identify constraints, understand trade offs and prioritize choices

- Use learning measurement and analytics to measure catalog efficiency and effectiveness, take necessary actions to ensure that all key learning metrics are measured, published and leveraged for decision making

- Link closely with the US National Industry Learning team and drive the creation and execution of the USI National Industry Learning Strategy

Managing Relationships

- Leverages deep relationships with key FSS leaders and a strong understanding of their Business needs and strategic priorities in order to provide effective service delivery

- Interlocks with the functions Talent Business Advisory lead to provide solutions that address key business requirements, liaises with various FSS Talent steering committees, collaborates with Core Talent Services for the delivery of learning programs, collaborates with various other Talent organizations on initiatives that impact the business (e.g. Performance management, Diversity and Inclusion, Global Mobility, A&M, Alumni Relations), and connects to other parts of the Talent Development organization to drive collaboration, coordination and integration, where appropriate

- Establishes appropriate, timely and targeted cadence with business stakeholders to build a positive perception of the function and ensure greater visibility, business connect, and solution orientation

Enables organizational changes including growth, M&A, divestitures and process change by applying different change management models

- Collaborates actively with peers based in the US to ensure workforce development needs are addressed, balancing consistency with localization to meet unique needs. Engages in regular communications with US colleagues and supports his/her team in doing the same

- Building deep relationships with internal and external stakeholders - assessed through periodic formal and informal stakeholder feedback

- Establish and manage stakeholder relationships with US and USI Consulting industry leaders and Industry designates from other functions

- Build interlocks with Consulting and National Industry learning teams

Operations

- Manages training for a business unit within the organization, including designing learning strategy aligned with the US/USI Consulting Talent strategy, assessing needs, and leading a team to develop and deliver training programs. Provides guidance on instructional content design/development for all learning environments in alignment with the organization's standards and cross-border goals

- Strengthens the USI Consulting Talent Development CoE's alignment with the Business by creating or curating Talent Development solutions to achieve business priorities

- Ensures delivery of high quality, error free instructional materials for multiple delivery channels. Maintains oversight on all vendor delivered training within the business unit

- Plans, creates, and manages a substantial learning budget ensuring that operational efficiencies are enhanced and monetary responsibilities are discharged to Deloitte ethical standards.Uses advanced financial management skills to plan and budget annually

- Drives team towards submitting accurate forecast every period and ensures adherence to the forecast numbers (forecasting / planning accuracy 90%). As needed, serves as an effective steward for the firms money during disputes and negotiations

- Conducts cost-benefit analysis to make decisions related to courseware design, development, and delivery

- Captures data and metrics around Talent Development programs and delivers insights and dashboards to leadership on capabilities, compliance, skills gaps, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of all L&D investments

- Deploys learning metrics as a guide for process/program improvements, people development, feedback etc. Periodically communicates the right set of metrics to relevent stakeholder group

- Keeping the unique position of USI in mind, improvise and innovate to create new opportunities around industry learning within the region

- Lead and manage the design and delivery of green dot industry initiatives / programs

People development/ management :

- Assigns and manages work according to availability, skills, strengths and developmental needs of team members

- Coaches and mentors team members on domain and role aspects to drive high performance

- Assesses performance and provides feedback to direct reports; drive the performance management process (RPM) and development strategy for all team members

- Manages team knowledge and invests in upskilling of all team members. Enables a culture of continuous learning within the team

- Demonstrates respect for individuals- perspectives, well being and development

Work timings: 9am-6pm

The team :

Within the larger HR services umbrella, the USI Consulting Talent Development CoE Team owns the Learning and Development charter for the USI Consulting practice. This team is 18 member strong and is present across all 4 India locations. The team aligns with the consulting business to cover Technical, Industry, Professional and Leadership skills.

Qualifications:

Required

Education: MBA or Equivalent Degree

Preferred

Certifications like DTD (ISTD), CPID, CPLP (ATD) etc.

Experience: 18+ Years (relevant work experience of 12+ years and at least 10 years in a supervisory capability)

Skills:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good command over English

- Experience dealing with senior executives in a large matrixed organization

- Ability to identify power centers, influence stakeholders and drive consensus based decisions across disparate groups in complex matrixed organizations

- Ability to partner with business and provide critical advice for decision making

- Ability to network with relevant stakeholders and build strong relationships

- Proven track record of leading large HR teams to drive strategy

- Exemplary planning, budgeting, project management and execution skills

- Ability to analyze data and make sound observations and recommendations
