The R& I group executes a research and analysis mandate to transform information surfaced through investigation about markets, sectors, and clients into actionable and decision-relevant insights for internal and external audiences. One of the group's key mission is to undertake research and analysis to develop compelling and forward-looking perspectives that allow clients to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to - what's coming next.

R&I - Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Center Team - Assistant Manager :

We have a high-performing R&I team with rich experience across the Technology, Media & Entertainment, and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors. The TMT R&I team strives to build eminence for Deloitte in the marketplace by working closely with the TMT industry and sector leaders and subject matter experts. The TMT team works on projects (Point of views, thoughtware, thematic papers, etc.) involving primary and secondary research. Apart from being subject matter specialist in their respective sectors, each member excels at research (primary & secondary), analysis (qualitative & quantitative), writing, and presentation.

In addition to core research skills and industry knowledge, we are looking for self-driven professionals who can handle ambiguity and perform under high-pressure situations.

Work you will do :

The successful candidate will conduct advanced level research - focusing on primary surveys,analysis, and writing - in the TMT industry, and work with the project leads toward developing and deploying thought-leadership based on primary and secondary research.

The professional will be required to :

- Conduct advanced level research, analysis, and writing in TMT - assist and support TMT research/project leads in building eminence for Deloitte's TMT practice in the marketplace.

- Develop research hypotheses and questions, design surveys, engage and liaise with survey vendors,analyze survey data, validate hypotheses, extract insights and synthesize findings.

- Deploy findings in well-written PoVs and Thoughtware (short-form and long-form pieces)

- Collaborate with TMT project leads and industry/sector SMEs in developing research hypotheses and questions based on underlying business issues - for further validation (through primary/secondary research)

- Work with project leads to understand, refine, and manage clients- expectations and priorities.

- Apply established research tools and methodologies to support business decision-making.

- Demonstrate strong writing skills as required for intelligence and thought leadership reports.

- Display strong storyboarding and visualization skills.

- Being autonomous and independently managing all aspects of project to ensure outcomes and meet deadlines, demonstrating high level of ownership and accountability.

Skillsets required :

- Prior exposure to business research/thought leadership in TMT industry - Hands-on experience in one of the 3 areas is preferred (tech / media / telecom)

- At least 3+ years of experience in independently leading/managing primary survey-based research projects, including:

- Developing research hypotheses

- Designing survey questions

- Managing/working with the survey vendors in fielding the surveys

- Tabulating results and performing data analysis using specific research methods

- Extracting/generating insights that validate the research hypotheses

- Writing and presenting short/long-form deliverables that capture the key insights.

- Experience in one or more of the following research methods: Statistical analysis (testing samples), Econometrics, Forecasting/simulation

- Solid skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel, SPSS, R-programming, and visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Spotfire)

- Solid problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Exposure to working in teams, including virtual teams.

- Highly developed personal and professional ethics are expected.

- An ability to build professional relationships, a spirit of co-operation, and a flexible approach to work are required.

- Experience in working with US clients is a plus. Since the job requires significant coordination with US colleagues, the ability to network with US counterparts is important.

Educational Requirements :

- Any Graduation Degree (Engineering/Commerce preferred)

- Professional qualification (reputed institutes preferred):

- MBA/PGDBM equivalent

- Master degree in International Business

- CFA

- Other Master's Degree like MBE/MFC

In addition, successful candidates will also have the following preferred skills:

- Ability to work independently, manage small projects or parts of large project engagements

- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise mature judgment
