Dell Consumer & Small Business team is looking for key leaders to join this fast paced, changing & challenging business as a merchandising consultant. This role will have direct P&L responsibility for one of the key categories in the CSB India business. The goal of the Brand / Merchandizing Manager for Consumer Notebook is to drive the vision, strategy and to manage the product throughout its lifecycle, maximizing product performance in the local market vs competition.

Principal accountabilities

- Drives the top and bottom line and optimizes all aspects of the portfolio P&L by delivering smart assortment, managing in-stocks, driving continual channel improvements and delivering the best customer experience.

- Applies deep understanding of customers- needs, the product and the competitive landscape.

- Develops and champions assortment vision and strategy, product roadmap and launches in support of corporate goals and objectives.

- Uses customer & market research, customer and user feedback, customer usage/segmentation and competitive analysis to inform assortment decisions and enhancements.

- Owns developing the right message to focus on the correct customer segmentation. Building offers that are relevant to the target audience.

- Collaborates with cross-functional team to develop, plan and implement new business development initiatives.

- Works closely with marketing to launch products and ensure their adoption.

- Define and align demand generation activities in corporation with Marketing and Marcom teams to establish a solid go to market strategy that delivers on RUM (Revenue, Units, Margin).

- Coordinates with the product team to manage technology transitions by platform and/or product line.

- Takes necessary actions to manage short and mid-term stock levels.

- Applies a thoughtful combination of marketing levers (price, positioning, and promotion) to drive, sell-in and ensure sell-through, enabling smooth inventory transitions, minimize E&O and migrating excess supply.

- Monitors slow sellers, and takes action to impact run rates via price reductions and/or other demand-driving activities as necessary.

- Supports content development of marketing/sales collaterals such as training, product catalogues/brochures as subject matter product knowledge specialist

- Provides deep subject matter expertise, advice and program delivery.

- Contributes to the development of new techniques and plans within area of expertise.

- In-depth understanding of Dell goals, customer requirements and knowledge of competitor practices.

- Thorough understanding of Dell business priorities, strategy and direction.

- Thorough understanding and management of customer business needs and expectations.

- Manages projects and program execution.

Qualifications

- 10+ years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience

- Strong oral and written communication skills to communicate with sales, finance, marketing, product management and leadership

- Strong knowledge of retail and channel business and dynamics.

- Working knowledge of competitive environment.

- Strong knowledge of assigned product lines.

- Strong time management and prioritization skills.

- Strict attention to detail.

- Advanced analytical ability.

- Basic grasp of P&L and Financial concepts.

- Effective in influencing cross- functional teams.

- Ability to translate consumer segmentation insights into solutions and experience
