DeepR Analytics - Stock Market Researcher & Analyst - Algorithm Trading Desk (1-3 yrs)

We're DeepR Analytics (www.deepranalytics.com), a company based out of Toronto, Canada, that develops algorithmic trading solutions and products primarily focused on merging innovative trading algorithms with recent advances in machine learning algorithms such as deep learning and reinforced learning to automate trading and reap profits. As algorithms run on their own but need supervision to work efficiently, we have an algo trade monitoring team that is responsible for its smooth functioning. Another major responsibility for this team is to conduct research on various trading & markets related topics in order to improve our algorithms. The prospective candidate will join this team to carry out some of the tasks listed below.

Responsibilities:

1. You will be part of the Algorithm trading desk, and responsible for quantitative research and real-time monitoring of the trading algorithm.

2. Quantitative research would involve:

- Applying numerical analyses to draw insights from real-time financial market data.

- Identifying good quantitative trading strategies.

- Researching various risk management models to trading algorithms.

- General technical and fundamental capital markets research.

3. Monitoring of the algorithm would involve:

- Observing how the algorithm is taking positions and identifying any irregular trading behaviors

- Monitoring poor performing positions

- Monitoring the algorithm's risk management systems

- Manually clearing positions

- Identifying any bugs in the algorithm and providing feedback to the algorithm developers

- Prepare performance sheets & reports

Job Requirements:

1. A minimum of bachelor's degree in disciplines such as commerce, financial engineering, mathematics, statistics, physics, econometrics, MBA finance, CFA etc.

2. Knowledge of statistical concepts such as generalized linear models, multi-factor models, time series analysis, hypothesis testing, stochastic calculus is preferred

3. In-depth understanding of major indexes across the world

4. Strong pattern recognition skills

5. Strong numerical and data analysis skills

6. Intermediate to strong knowledge of stock markets including technical analysis based on charts.

7. Prior securities trading experience and knowledge is preferred

8. Strong knowledge of excel

9. Prior knowledge of any trading platform or any charting software is preferred

10. Strong English communication skills

11. Initiator and good leadership skills

12. Will be required to take FINRA's Series 57 exam after joining

13. Willing to work in the night shift: 5:30 PM to 2:00 AM
