Data Scientist - EduTech (1-5 yrs)
We are looking for a candidate with strong analytical abilities and experience in statistical/machine learning modeling to synthesize and leverage data in the EdTech domain.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
- Processing, cleansing and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis
- Extending the company's data with third-party sources of information when needed
- Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems.
Skills/competencies required:
- Must have an engineering degree from Tier -1 institutes preferably with coursework in operation research, statistics, machine learning or programming
- 2 to 3 years of experience in the analytics domain
- Strong understanding of at least 3 different machine learning models preferably NLP, Decision trees and Bayes Nets
- Familiarity with significance testing, sampling, descriptive statistics, and multivariate statistics
- Hands on experience in Python and comfortable with relational and non-relational databases
- Understanding of Item Response Theory will be an added advantage
