Data Scientist

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE : Project Initiation/ Project Definition, Predictive Modeling, R/SAS/ Python, Stakeholder Management, Convert Business to Technical Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

- Interact with internal stakeholders to capture business requirement

- Translate business requirements into statistical problem statements

- Perform multivariate analysis and design innovative solutions using statistical modeling and solve business problems

- Define project scope and deliverables that support business goals; collaborate with the concerned team to ensure timely delivery of projects

SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE :

- Ability to engage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and convert the same into technical problems for solution development

- Knowledge of analytical/statistical techniques similar to but not limited to linear and logistic regression, decision trees, random forests, support vector machines clustering etc. and their applications

- A working knowledge of/experience in SAS and R/Python is a must

- Experience in handling large volumes of data, data cleansing & data preparation

- Good communications skills, both written and spoken

- Ability to translate and integrate results of statistical models with business understanding to help in realizing business outcomes

- Knowledge of data visualization tools (Tableau, QlikView, etc.) is an added advantage

- Candidate should have worked hands-on as an individual contributor in developing predictive models in at least one of these areas - cross-sell / up-sell strategies, market segmentation, price optimization, customer retention, anomaly detection, etc.

- Candidate must be a strong team player

QUALIFICATIONS : Masters in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or Bachelors in Engineering with a bent towards analytics/statistics
