We are looking for a data science geek, who gets how to deploy data science techniques in technology platforms. We will call the person our Head of Data Science / Chief Data Scientist. S/he would have the aspirations and appetite in working in a start up environment, and with relevant industry experience to make a significant contribution to our platform and products. The role requires a broad range of skills, and we are currently looking for strong communicator with deep data science and big-data technologies experience, and product development exposure to lead the data science team.

Desired Candidate :

- An ideal candidate would have excellent data science skills of conceptualizing and building machine learning models in R and Python.

- You will be well versed with the latest data science techniques in supervised and unsupervised learning and classification problems.

- You will typically have worked in a technology product company and have the experience of deploying and operationalizing machine learning models through technology platforms.

- Given that the majority of our projects involve structured and unstructured data, experience with big data technologies like Azure Data Lake would be a plus.

- Knowledge and experience of new databases like RedShift, Cosmos would be beneficial.

- Understand the client's vision and create a data science capability development roadmap

- Nurture and grow a team of data scientists who can be deployed at client projects as well as support platform and solution development

- Develop client-specific machine learning solutions using the platform

- Proficiency with SQL, noSQL and Hadoop framework technologies, ideally using a Microsoft product
 
Experience :

- A start-up mind set with proven experience working in both smaller and larger organisations having multicultural exposure

- At least 6 years of experience working closely with clients or technology products, and providing recommendations and solutions

- Understanding of computational analysis, search and / or machine learning techniques

- Domain and industry experience by serving customers in one or more of these industries - Financial Services and Consumer Packaged Goods

Education Background ;

- A Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in Software Engineering and Computer Science with strong programming content

- An advanced degree, or equivalent, such as a Master's, MBA or PhD
