Data Migration Specialist - Bank (6-12 yrs)

We are hiring for the following skills, you will be working on banking project in South Africa.

To play a key role in assisting the bank to drive out its data vision by understanding enterprise data requirements and providing overall data architecture and solution designs that guide integration and appropriate control of data assets. To enable the bank to unlock the value in its data so that it may be leveraged to provide competitive advantage.

- Design data solutions based on business strategy, client needs, best-practice knowledge, considering system design and development, integration and control of data, and the future technology direction, including the migration plans to move from current to future state.

- Ensure all aspects of the solution design and implementation are completed according to the agreed architecture frameworks, relevant architectural principles and standards and continuously driving toward towards Target State Architecture.

- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance processes, systems and policies and support adoption of new / enhanced processes / systems.

- Ensure alignment with emerging Technologies and make recommendations in terms of potential new technologies, put together position papers, and/or propose which should be put forward for proto-typing and experimentation.

- Manage acceptance of solutions through education and effective communication.

- Provide input into enterprise data needs and the creation and maintenance of the enterprise data model,

- Provide input into the data technology architecture and direction of the organisation from a data management technologies perspective

- Provide input into defining an maintaining data integration, DW, BI, MDM, document and content and metadata architectures as well as enterprise taxonomies

- Monitoring and evaluation of competitive offerings that could change the domain landscape.

- Provide data domain related thought leadership and strategic direction to the enterprise and specific projects

- Develop data related design guidelines, standards and patterns.

- Communicate strategies and processes around architecture to cross functional groups at all relevant levels.

- Maintain up to date knowledge of latest developments in data (Legislative and Industry), carry out research and consult industry experts with regard to best practice and technology trends, build external networks that facilitate deeper understanding, attend relevant forums.

- Understand and embrace the company vision and demonstrate the values through interaction with team and stakeholders.

Able to demonstrate practical experience with Data Modelling (Conceptual, logical and physical), Data Warehousing (Data Analysis, atomic and conformed data mart design and build), Business Intelligence (Reporting to Advanced Analytics incl real-time analytics), Data Integration (Patterns and technologies (real-time, data streaming & virtualisation)).

Broad Understanding of Data Quality Management, Data Governance, Master and Reference Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Security, Document and content management and other data management capabilities

Hands-on engineering experience across both structured and unstructured data sets and relevant Data Management and Big Data Architectures and Technologies, e.g. Hadoop, Pig, Hive

Relevant regulatory knowledge, and understanding of banking and financial services

Understanding of Data Management Body Of Knowledge (DMBOK), TOGAF, Zachman

A broad understanding of a number of different technical disciplines

Solution architecture : Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas. Produces detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products.

- Within a business change programme, assists in the preparation of technical plans and cooperates with business assurance and project staff to ensure that appropriate technical resources are made available. Provides advice on technical aspects of system development and integration (including requests for changes, deviations from specifications, etc.) and ensures that relevant technical strategies, policies, standards and practices (including security) are applied correctly.

Emerging technology monitoring : Maintains awareness of opportunities provided by new technology to address challenges or to enable new ways of working. Within own sphere of influence, works to further organisational goals, by the study and use of emerging technologies and products. Contributes to briefings and presentations about their relevance and potential value to the organisation.

- Maintains an awareness of developing technologies and their application and takes responsibility for driving own development by actively identifying new areas for learning; regularly creating and taking advantage of learning opportunities. Rapidly absorbs new information and applies it effectively.

Preferred Certifications : CDMP, TOGAF, Zachman

- 5-8 years in a data architecture role and relevant IT Architecture experience
